PRODUCT FEATURES
Single-function valve cartridge controls the temperature at full output flow. Monitors water pressure to balance temperature. All Delta® tub and shower faucets are engineered to keep the water temperature within a safe ±3.6° F (±1.7° C)*. This technology makes sure your family doesn’t experience a sudden and possibly unsafe change in water temperature as a result of running water elsewhere, such as using a dishwasher, flushing a toilet or running a washing machine. The valve cartridge features an adjustable handle limit stop that, when properly set, helps ensure the handle cannot be turned to a position that is too hot for comfort*. The handle limit stop's integrated design allows easy adjustment via pull and turn. Easily replaced seals make maintenance a snap. Comes with all Delta pressure balance tub and shower faucets. *Requires inlet water temperature be set correctly. May require seasonal adjustments.
  • Monitor® single-function pressure balance cartridge
  • Use with Monitor® 1300/1400 Series tub & showers produced before March 2006
  • Allows for temperature control
  • Integrated rotational limit stop

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Miserable quality, expensive paperweight They don't last. We have two showers on opposite sides of the same wall running the same water. In shower #1, the cartridge is as old as anyone can remember. In shower #2, we replaced the cartridge a year ago. $200 contract labor plus the cost of the cartridge. It lasted 6 months and started its ever-worsening leak when turned to the off position. $200 more plus the cost of another cartridge. The new one just suffered the same failure as the last two, and had to be replaced again. Another $200 labor, another new cartridge cost. We're down almost $1,000 this year alone on these defective Delta cartridges. I might as well buy the knockoffs that cost a quarter of what these cost if I'm going to have to have them replaced every 6 months.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nothing Better Than OEM Buying directly from Delta rubber stamps OEM components that are built to last. I've learned my lesson about the risk of selecting after market items or those that are advertised as compatible with OEM parts. If you're a DIY guy, especially when dealing with plumbing repairs, my advice is to buy OEM and enjoy significant savings on plumbers fees when the job is complete. More often than expected, 50-75% savings on a part can translate into the frustration of having to repeat the repair and do without for a longer duration until the OEM part is delivered. Being greedy has its unfortunate consequences, so trust Delta over third party sources!

Q&A

What can I upgrade to?

I have a RP19804 cartridge in my shower now. Can I convert the trim kit to a 17 series without changing the rough in valve?
Asked by: B!
Hello B!, Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, if you have the RP19804 currently, you can only use T13 or T14 trims without needing to change out the rough in valve. You would keep using the RP19804 with this new T13 or T14 trim.

I only wish to replace the rubber O rings on the 1300/1400 series cartridge. Do you sell an O rings kit?

Asked by: Mike
Hi, Mike! Thank you for your question. While we do recommend to replace the whole cartridge if you have issues with the o-rings, the o-rings are available as separate parts. The Delta RP14414 O-rings for the legs measure - Nominal Size 9/16" X 11/16" X 1/16" Uniform Size # 015. The Delta RP23357 body o-ring measures - Nominal Size 1-9/16: X 1-3/4" X 3/32". Here is a links to the o-rings: https://www.deltafaucet.com/parts-product-detail?modelNumber=RP14414 https://www.deltafaucet.com/parts-product-detail?modelNumber=RP23357 Best Regards, Rosanna

I have a shower that has the old RP19804 Delta Cartridge, but it is "trimmed" with a Danco Trim Kit.

I would like to know which Delta Shower Trim Kit is compatible with the RP19804 Cartridge (is it any Series 14 Monitor?) - and I want the metal handle not the acrylic knob. Thank you.
Asked by: cajunjake
Hi cajunjake, Thank you for your question! Any T13 or T14 series trim kit will work with your valve. Please be sure to use the existing cartridge (or a new RP19804) rather than the cartridge that comes with the kit. Thanks, Jon

On the website the correct image is shown with the short tower and blue legs. When I click on it, it now changes to this different design with a taller tower. It has no open space. Is this an updated design? Will this work as a replacement?

Asked by: Chuck
Hi, Chuck! Thank you for your question. The RP19804 Valve Cartridge Assembly is the same design and should have shorter legs with no open space. We do apologize for any confusion this may have caused. Best Regards, Rosanna

Does this part have a life time warranty?

Asked by: Delta
Hi Delta, Thank you for your question. All parts and finishes of the Delta faucet are warranted to the original consumer purchaser to be free from defects in material and workmanship for as long as the original consumer purchaser owns their home. Thanks, Dave

What is the difference between the blue and grey bottoms delta 1400 tub n shower? And are they interchangeable?

Asked by: Joseph
Hi, Joseph. Thank you for your question. The blue and white Delta RP19804 Valve Cartridge Assembly will only fit our Delta 1400 Series Valves that were installed before 2006. The gray RP46074 Valve Cartridge Assembly fits our Delta MultiChoice Universal R10000 Rough in Valve Bodies installed after 2006. These cartridge are not interchangeable. Best Regards, Rosanna

Will this fit my 1987 delta valve with clear plastic handle that lifts up to allow water flow and twist to right or left for temp control. Will it allow me to change to a H79 handle?

Asked by: DIYer
Hi, DIYer! Thank you for your question. The Delta RP19804 valve cartridge assembly will not work with our Delta 600 series shower units that push up to turn water on. We do however have the Delta RP54870 renovation kit that can update your trim to a lever handle. Here is a link to the kit: https://www.deltafaucet.com/parts-product-detail?modelNumber=RP54870 Best Regards, Rosanna
