PRODUCT FEATURES
Single-function valve cartridge controls the temperature at full output flow. Monitors water pressure to balance temperature. All Delta® tub and shower faucets are engineered to keep the water temperature within a safe ±3.6° F (±1.7° C)*. This technology makes sure your family doesn’t experience a sudden and possibly unsafe change in water temperature as a result of running water elsewhere, such as using a dishwasher, flushing a toilet or running a washing machine. The valve cartridge features an adjustable handle limit stop that, when properly set, helps ensure the handle cannot be turned to a position that is too hot for comfort*. The handle limit stop's integrated design allows easy adjustment via pull and turn. Easily replaced seals make maintenance a snap. Comes with all Delta pressure balance tub and shower faucets. *Requires inlet water temperature be set correctly. May require seasonal adjustments.
  • Monitor® single-function pressure balance cartridge
  • Use with Monitor® 1300/1400 Series tub & showers produced before March 2006

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Miserable quality, expensive paperweight They don't last. We have two showers on opposite sides of the same wall running the same water. In shower #1, the cartridge is as old as anyone can remember. In shower #2, we replaced the cartridge a year ago. $200 contract labor plus the cost of the cartridge. It lasted 6 months and started its ever-worsening leak when turned to the off position. $200 more plus the cost of another cartridge. The new one just suffered the same failure as the last two, and had to be replaced again. Another $200 labor, another new cartridge cost. We're down almost $1,000 this year alone on these defective Delta cartridges. I might as well buy the knockoffs that cost a quarter of what these cost if I'm going to have to have them replaced every 6 months.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nothing Better Than OEM Buying directly from Delta rubber stamps OEM components that are built to last. I've learned my lesson about the risk of selecting after market items or those that are advertised as compatible with OEM parts. If you're a DIY guy, especially when dealing with plumbing repairs, my advice is to buy OEM and enjoy significant savings on plumbers fees when the job is complete. More often than expected, 50-75% savings on a part can translate into the frustration of having to repeat the repair and do without for a longer duration until the OEM part is delivered. Being greedy has its unfortunate consequences, so trust Delta over third party sources!

Is this cartridge a temp control cartridge?

Asked by: dls1
Hi dls1, Thank you for contacting Delta Faucet Company! Please accept our sincere apology for the inconvenience you are experiencing. Here is what we can do to resolve your issue for you. Our Delta Faucet Cartridge Assembly - 1300 / 1400 Series (04/2006 And Earlier) MODEL#: RP19804 is manufactured for our 1300/1400 series trim kits and does not determine temperature. The RP19804 is a pressure balanced cartridge and with new installations we recommend adjusting the RLS to get hotter water if needed. I have attached a link to show how to adjust the RLS on our Delta shower cartridges. This will provide the option of hotter water, also we recommend making sure the water heater temperature is set to 120 or lower. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=By5b7uazCqM Thank you for being a loyal Delta Faucet customer. We appreciate your business and look forward to continuing to serve you. Please contact us back with any further questions. Best Regards, Nicole

My house was built in 2008 series 1400 is the cartridge RP19804 fits my shower faucet?

Asked by: Cila83

My shower control is about 18 years old. Would this be the correct part. I have a very slow drip at the shower head that drips that doesn't stop.

Asked by: Kris
Hello Kris, Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet RP19804 Cartridge Assembly. I apologize that the shower is dripping. I know that can be frustrating. We are happy to help! Yes, If your shower was installed before 2006 and the single handle is at the 3 o'clock position while off, the faucet would be a 1300/1400 series that uses this cartridge. Recommended maintenance for a drip would be to clean and flush the valve, clean the cartridge, replace the RP4993 seats and springs in the legs of the cartridge, and check the condition of the o-rings on the legs of the cartridge RP14414. Please reach out at customerservice@deltafaucet.com or 1-800-345-DELTA if you have any questions or need additional assistance. Thank you for being a loyal Delta Faucet customer. Best regards, Bryan
