PRODUCT FEATURES
Single-function valve cartridge controls the temperature at full output flow. Monitors water pressure to balance temperature. All Delta® tub and shower faucets are engineered to keep the water temperature within a safe ±3.6° F (±1.7° C)*. This technology makes sure your family doesn’t experience a sudden and possibly unsafe change in water temperature as a result of running water elsewhere, such as using a dishwasher, flushing a toilet or running a washing machine. The valve cartridge features an adjustable handle limit stop that, when properly set, helps ensure the handle cannot be turned to a position that is too hot for comfort*. The handle limit stop's integrated design allows easy adjustment via pull and turn. Easily replaced seals make maintenance a snap. Comes with all Delta pressure balance tub and shower faucets. *Requires inlet water temperature be set correctly. May require seasonal adjustments.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Miserable quality, expensive paperweight They don't last. We have two showers on opposite sides of the same wall running the same water. In shower #1, the cartridge is as old as anyone can remember. In shower #2, we replaced the cartridge a year ago. $200 contract labor plus the cost of the cartridge. It lasted 6 months and started its ever-worsening leak when turned to the off position. $200 more plus the cost of another cartridge. The new one just suffered the same failure as the last two, and had to be replaced again. Another $200 labor, another new cartridge cost. We're down almost $1,000 this year alone on these defective Delta cartridges. I might as well buy the knockoffs that cost a quarter of what these cost if I'm going to have to have them replaced every 6 months.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nothing Better Than OEM Buying directly from Delta rubber stamps OEM components that are built to last. I've learned my lesson about the risk of selecting after market items or those that are advertised as compatible with OEM parts. If you're a DIY guy, especially when dealing with plumbing repairs, my advice is to buy OEM and enjoy significant savings on plumbers fees when the job is complete. More often than expected, 50-75% savings on a part can translate into the frustration of having to repeat the repair and do without for a longer duration until the OEM part is delivered. Being greedy has its unfortunate consequences, so trust Delta over third party sources!

I installed the # RP19804 cartridge and the "Hot" does not get hot. Even when turned all to the way to hot, it barely gets warm enough for a shower. Is it adjustable? Do you have any suggestions? Thank you

Asked by: James

The cartridge may be bad in our shower. When you turn the temperature warmer, it does not get hot any more. If you turn it far enough it shuts off. This is a Monitor 1300/1400 single handle pressure-balanced shower valve trim kit in Brushed Nickel.

Is this replaced by RP46074? Are RP19804 (1300/1400 series) and RP46074 (13/14 series) cartridges compatible? I want to upgrade my 2006 faucet with a modern Delta set without touching the valve, which is hard to replace without major damage to the wall...

Asked by: pbergn
Hi pbergn, Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet RP19804. This cartridge is not interchangeable with RP46074, the shape of the legs is different. The handle attaches the same on both cartridges. A current 14 series trim can typically fit a 1400 valve and RP19804 cartridge. The trim can be updated without changing the valve or cartridge. We bought 3 brand new Delta RP19804 cartridges and every single one knocks our water pressure down so low it’s practically unusable.  Without the cartridge installed there is a very strong flow. The old cartridge was fine except for dripping. Solution?

Asked by: Dale13
Hi Dale13, Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet RP19804. The issue may be because of the pressure balance spool in the cartridge. The cartridge requires both hot and cold water pressure to function. If one of the supplies has low pressure, the output will be low pressure. Does this fit the Monitor model which was installed around 1998? Water flow and temperature is controlled by a single ball handle. The ball handle is screwed on top of the cartridge. Are there any washer and springs that need to be replaced as well?.

Asked by: crpo
Hello, crpo! Thank you for contacting us at Delta Faucet! I apologize for this information not being available to you but I will be happy to help! If your handle operates the shower by lifting the handle up then turning it left and right for hot and cold then you have a 600 series shower that utilizes the RP70 ball assembly and RP4993 seats and springs. If your shower handle simply rotates counterclockwise to control the temperature of the water then you have a 13/14 Series which will utilize the RP19804 cartridge asesembly. Please contact us directly if further assistance is needed at this time.  We appreciate your loyalty to Delta Faucet Company. Best Regards, Tim

Is there a handle extension to fit the RP19804? New tile was installed, & now the trim sleeve is too long to install the H79 handle. Or, is there a shorter trim sleeve to fit the RP19804? I really don't want to have to cut my trim sleeve shorter.

Replaced pre 2006 cartridge for1400 series monitor, now gets no more than Luke warm.is there an adjustment possible,or warranty the cartridge?

Asked by: Wes031
Hi Wes031, thank you for contacting Delta Faucet Company! Most of our shower cartridges have a Rotational Limit Stop that will need adjusted if they are new out of the package. This can be found on the top of the cartridge assembly. For an RP19804 please refer to the instructions below. You shouldn't need to shut your water off but keep in mind it is still possible for the water to turn on if the stem is rotated. Please gather 1/8" allen wrench for a lever handle and a philips screwdriver for a knob handle. 1. Remove your handle with your 1/8" allen wrench. The set screw should be under the lever of the handle. If you have a knob, please remove the cap on the tip of the handle. You will need a philips head screwdriver to remove the screw. 2. Pull the sleeve assembly off of the valve. This is the cylindrical part behind your handle that hides the valve body. 3. You will see a brass stem and a plastic white piece on the tip of the cartridge. The white piece has notches on it to grip it easier. 4. Please pull the white piece towards you and rotate counter-clockwise for hotter water. *Please note there is a limit of how far this will rotate, if you rotate to the hottest setting it will be the same temperature as your water heater. This is not recommended as it can cause scalding. Please also note that each notch you rotate to can range anywhere between 4 and 16 degrees Fahrenheit.* Now you are able to install your sleeve and your handle onto your valve. Turn your water on and see if this is your desired temperature. If it is, tighten the set screw or the screw and the temperature adjustment on the cartridge is done! We appreciate your feedback. Please reach out directly with further questions! Best Regards, Kyra Digital Communications Specialist
