Does it come with springs?

Asked by: Benjamin
Thank you for your question, Benjamin! The RP1991 cartridge does not include springs. Springs would be included in RP4993 seats and springs. Best regards, Bryan

what is model for a pressure and temperature balancing tub shower valve replacement ("rocking" ball type & turns) installed in 1991

Asked by: cnpfarm
Hi cnpfarm, thank you for contacting Delta Faucet Company! Our RP1991 cartridge is used with our 1600 series tub/shower valves. This model handle rotates only. If you have a handle that lifts and then rotates to turn on, it may be our 600 series. Our 600 series uses a ball assembly. We appreciate your inquiry. Please reach out directly if you have further questions! Best Regards, Kyra Digital Engagement Specialist

How do you Replace RP1991?

Asked by: Dbook
Hi Valued Customer, Thank you for contacting Delta Faucet Company! Please shut off the water supplies, grab a towel, an 1/8" inch allen wrench (for a lever handle) or Philips screwdriver (for a knob handle), and a strap wrench. 1. Turn the handle on to remove excess water, and remove the handle with the allen wrench or Philips screwdriver. 2. Slide off the sleeve assembly to reveal the bonnet and the valve. 3. Using the strap wrench, please remove the bonnet nut. 4. Pull the cartridge out of the valve, and slightly wiggle if needed. 5. Remove the seats and springs in the valve. 6. We recommend flushing the valve before installing a new cartridge. 7. Please shut the shower door or curtain and turn the hot and cold water supplies on for about 2 minutes. 8. Once you flush the valve, you can install the seats and springs, the cartridge, the bonnet nut, the sleeve, and the handle. Please note that you will need to adjust the rotational limit stop for your temperature preference if you are installing a new cartridge. To adjust your rotational limit stop, use the allen wrench to loosen or tighten the set screw on the cartridge. Please note that adjusting this part may range from 4 to 16 degrees Fahrenheit. We appreciate your inquiry. Please reach out directly if you have further questions! Best Regards, Kyra Digital Engagement Specialist
