Extra $70 Part Needed for Proper Fit
I agree with another reviewer (Steve)! It’s frustrating that the only way to get a proper fit is by purchasing a separate sleeve for nearly $70. That doesn’t feel reasonable or customer-friendly.
If the trim kit requires the Long Sleeve (RP22735, 3-1/2”) to install correctly, that component should be clearly included or at least more transparently communicated upfront. Having to figure this out after purchase adds unnecessary cost and inconvenience.

Delta doesn’t care about their customers
I asked a question that you totally disregarded. I bought the shower walls from delta that are recessed. The valve is at the standard location. Due to the shower walls being recessed it’s going to need a longer sleeve. Everything was purchased from delta. This should have been included in the faucet kit. It’s unfair that I have to pay extra when my entire bathroom is delta. At the very least if you’re going to charge extra for this piece it should be $30 tops.

Q&A
Need long trim sleeve in oil rubbed bronze.
Noticed several requests for the OB finish for the long trim sleeve. It can't be that hard to manufacture this part with OB finish! Disappointing that this part is not available in the finish to match the trim kits. The only option is to use Venetian Bronze for the trim sleeve with the rest OB...or spray paint???? Don't know how that will look.
Hi Karen, We are sorry for any inconvenience that this issue has caused you. The RP22735RB in the venetian bronze would be the closest finish choice to the oil rubbed bronze of your faucet. The finishes are similar but not an exact match.

Will this work for a 17 series fixture?
Thank you for your question, Andrew. This sleeve will not work for the 17 series. The correct sleeve is part number RP37731. We do not have a longer sleeve for this series.

The spacer for our 1400 series tub/shower valve is RP29569, and the o-ring for the trim sleeve is RP23336. Please note that the spacer is a white plastic piece that fits inside of the sleeve, and it has been re-designed to use less plastic.

what is the purpose of the plastic ring that come in the box rp22735 and were dose it go when i install it?

Thank you for your question, Russ! This goes inside the sleeve and is used to help provide a more secure installation when the sleeve is slid forward on the valve. This can be necessary if the valve is installed further back in the wall.
