Extra $70 Part Needed for Proper Fit
I agree with another reviewer (Steve)! It’s frustrating that the only way to get a proper fit is by purchasing a separate sleeve for nearly $70. That doesn’t feel reasonable or customer-friendly.
If the trim kit requires the Long Sleeve (RP22735, 3-1/2”) to install correctly, that component should be clearly included or at least more transparently communicated upfront. Having to figure this out after purchase adds unnecessary cost and inconvenience.

Delta doesn’t care about their customers
I asked a question that you totally disregarded. I bought the shower walls from delta that are recessed. The valve is at the standard location. Due to the shower walls being recessed it’s going to need a longer sleeve. Everything was purchased from delta. This should have been included in the faucet kit. It’s unfair that I have to pay extra when my entire bathroom is delta. At the very least if you’re going to charge extra for this piece it should be $30 tops.

Hello, can you confirm the length of this collar? In the specs, it says it's 2.25" long, but in some of these questions, which are from several years ago, it says 3.5" long. Is it still 3.5" long?

I have a Delta 1400 series, before 2006, that I want to update to a SS (brushed nickel) look. All I find are those that include a multi choice cartridge. I don’t want to replace the rough-in valve. They also have a short sleeve. I need a long one. Help!

A Delta Faucet new trim kit will include all the necessary components as well as a new trim sleeve to complete the installation, the trim sleeve is not something you will need to purchase separately. However, you will not use the new cartridge assembly that comes with the trim kit but your existing cartridge instead.

I bought delta tub, shower surround, and faucets new. Why does the faucet not include the correct length sleeve? RP22735RB should be included for free. Seems unfair I have to pay extra when I purchased everything delta. Can you send me one for free?

The longer sleeves are available if the rough-in valve was father outside of the wall than the standard installation. Standard installations only require RP50879 sleeve.
