Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great for circa 2005 faucet handles I have two sinks (4 faucet handles) that use this part. It is the correct part for my master BR sinks. My faucet handles look just like the pic from review "Delta stands behind their product". My question - in the pic from Tony's review there is a bolt in the background - I am missing this bolt for one of my faucets. It's got a collar to it so as to push/hold the RP24096 in place. What is the name and dimension of this bolt??

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Old roman tub faucet I have an old Roman Tub faucet and my AI on my smart phone say the handles are from Danco, However the Delta T2710 looks exactly like mine, It is dripping bad and looks like delta part RP24096 might repair it. However I am confused with the Danco call out? The lettering on the knobs matches the Danco sight? Does Delta use Danco parts or maybe the knobs were replaced previously.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lots of help I have an old roman tub faucet that was leaking from the hot water side. I had little or no info as to the faucet model no. or cartridge that I needed to repair the leak. I used the Delta email service and sent in two pictures of the faucet and within a day got a response with my faucet model number (since discontinued) and the type of cartridge I needed. My only issue with Delta is that they limit the problem description to 250 characters! I think 500 characters would allow a better description of the problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Delta stands behind their product I only buy DELTA products for all my needs and I had a perfect example of their exceptional Customer's service. I had a 15 to 20 years old Delta bathroom faucet that was leaking under the HW handle. I knew that Delta indicates that they have a ''Lifetime Limited Warranty that covers parts being free of defects in material and workmanship for the original owner/purchaser''. I got in touch with them and they sent me the required replacement parts RP24096 - Stem Assembly and RP4993 - Seats and Springs under their promised lifetime warranty. The leak is fixed and we have a ''new'' faucet. Fantastic Customer's experience and Delta exceeded all my expectations. With quality products that deliver the expected performance and exceptional customer's service, I will remain a Delta customer for life.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Replacing a Leaking Tap Cartridge I have a 2004 Delta Two Handle Bathroom Faucet Victorian Collection model #3555. Not be confused with the newer model 35955. The HW tap was leaking from under the bell of the handle when the CW tap was turned on. I suspected I needed to change out the stem cartridge and seal/spring give the age of the faucet. So, I just did both as opposed to testing each separately. Tracking down the parts was somewhat easy once I identified the faucet model, however, I did run into problems which I will get to in a second. YOU NEED TO BE VERY SPECIFIC AS TO THE DELTA MODEL NUMBER AND YEAR. Even though the Victorian model looks exactly the same through the 2000’s, the replacement part numbers can be different. I found this out when I ordered what I thought to believe was the correct seat/spring #RP10700. When in fact, it was the RP4993. For my faucet, 2004 #3555 STEM/CARTRIDGE: RP 24096 (this is mostly consistent across most of the #3555 years) SEAT/SPRING: RP 4993 (this in NOT consistent across many of the #3555 and depends upon year) I ordered from Amazon and Delta parts, not knockoffs. RP 25513. This includes ONE Stem/Cartridge (RP24096) plus the ¼ turn stop (RP24097). RP 8230. This includes ONE Stem/Cartridge (RP24096) plus the seat/spring (RP10700) So, looking at all the costs, I ordered Qty 2 of the RP25513 plus Qty 1 of the RP10700 (2 seats & springs). PROBLEM: When I changed everything out, the leaking stopped BUT the faucet started dripping when I turned on the HW supply valve. After “googling” the problem, the issue was likely the Seat/Spring. I had ordered the incorrect part RP10700 when in fact the RP4993 was needed. Interesting enough, when I removed the original, the seat spring I pulled out looked to be the RP10700. When I checked the CW tap (which had no leaks), the seat/spring appeared to be the RP4993, so I took a chance and ordered it. Voila, it was the right part and both the leaking and dripping has stopped and I’m done!!

what is the size of the o ring used on stem RP24096

Asked by: Psop
Hello Psop, Thank you for your question. We recommend replacing the complete stem unit rather than the o-rings. However, the RP1129 is the outer o-ring on the Delta Stem Assembly RP24096. The dimensions of the RP1129 o-ring are 11/16" ID x 13/16" OD x 1/16" thick. Best regards, Tanya

Bathroom sink, lever style, Leaking Faucet, still leaking after replacing RP24096 (hot or cold),

My bathroom sink with the lever style handles has a steady stream leak. I replaced the same cartridge in both hot and cold sides since this part is designed for both sides. After replacing both hot and cold cartridges the leak continues. Did I do something wrong?
Asked by: Jim
Hi Jim, Thank you for your question. We recommend replacing the RP4993 seats and springs in addition to the RP24096 stem assembly to stop a leak. The seats and springs are located directly underneath the stem assemblies in the valve body and help create the seal to shut off the water. Thanks, Dave

Rough in is out of square... Do you have a Stem that is adjustable?

The Rough is out of square... Do you have a Stem that is adjustable? One handle is about 30 degrees off the other is around 15 degrees off... the Stems that came with the rough in do not seem to offer any sort of adjustment... 2) Do you offer stems that would allow me to compensate.... or do I have to rip out the rough in and start over.... 3) Do the finished levers/handles offer any way to make adjustments to fine tune the adjustment to a good final look?
Asked by: Bill
Hi Bill, We are sorry that you are experiencing a problem with your faucet. If your faucet uses the RP24096 stem assembly there is no adjustable cartridge or handle assembly available. The handle fits on the stem assembly one way and the cartridge mounts into the valve body either properly or incorrectly/reversed. You will have to straighten the end valve assemblies to straighten out the handles. Thanks, Dave

Are there online instructions for stopping drips from RP4096

Asked by: Dick
Hi Dick, Thank you for your question! Here are instructions on repairing a leak from a two handle faucet: If you are not certain, you will need to find out if the hot or cold valve is causing the leak. Let's begin by troubleshooting with the hot valve: Shut off water supply. Cover drain opening so parts won’t fall into it. If you have lever handles, loosen the set screw with an Allen wrench and remove the handle. If you have knob handles, pry off the handle button, remove the screw and lift off the handle. Unscrew bonnet nut. Use a crescent wrench to loosen if necessary. Pull stem straight up and out. Remove seat and spring. You can lift them out with a pencil or an Allen wrench. Wipe inside of body, including where seat and spring sit, with a soft cloth. Place new seat over new spring (Delta Genuine Part RP4993 – two sets per package)and insert into socket in body using a pencil or an Allen wrench. (Small end of spring goes into seat large end of the spring goes into the faucet body.) IMPORTANT—STEM MUST BE REPLACED PROPERLY. Knob handle stem position: Slip the stem unit into the body, aligning the tabs on the stem with the slots in the body, so the “stop” on each stem points toward the spout. Lever handle stem position: Align the tabs on the stem with the slots in the body, so the “stop” on each stem points toward the right. If you have lever handles, you may also need to reinstall the quarter turn stops to limit the handles from turning more than 90º. Note: If you reinstall the handles and find that they aren’t turning the right direction, rotate the stem 180º and check for proper handle rotation. Screw bonnet nut on and hand tighten. Replace handle, tighten screw. If the drip persists, repeat the above steps on the cold valve. Read more: http://www.deltafaucet.com/customersupport/faq/leaks/index.html#ixzz42uCk8IQY

How to I Know Which Stem Unit Assembly

I am confused. What is the difference between the RP24096 and RP1740 Stem Unit Assemblies? And then there is the RP25513. I have an older 3544 Classic Faucet (2 handles)
Asked by: Spifi
Hi Spifi, Thank you for your question. The RP1740 stem assembly has a plastic stem and body and is used with faucets that generally have knob style handles that attach with a screw down through the handle and stem assembly. The RP24096 has a plastic body and a metal stem. This stem assembly is usually used on faucets with lever style handles that attach with a set screw from the side. The RP25513 is the same as the RP24096 except it also comes with 1/4 stops that limit the handle motion to 90 degrees. The model 3544 should use the RP25513. Thanks, Dave

Rough in of valve done wrong so that HOT valve side has valve seat&spring close to tub spout. So now with RP24096 in and lever attached to RP24096, the lever points in same direction as COLD lever. Can plastic cap in lever handle be modified

Asked by: Jack
Hello Jack, Thank you for your inquiry! For both the hot and cold valve, install the stem with the permanent white stop on the right side. The removable 1/4 turn stop should be installed in the back on the cold side and in the front on the hot side. Next, tighten down the bonnet nut and rotate the brass stem so that the flat side is facing away from the spout (off position) and attach the handle. Best regards, Tanya

Is the RP1740 basically the same valve as the RP24096 except for the brass stem and the removable stop? The Delta 3530 and 3544 lists both valves as replacement parts. Thanks.

Asked by: sandnomad
Hi, sandnomad! Thank you for your question. The RP1740 and RP24096 stem unit assemblies are different as one is plastic and one is brass. Depending on the handles being used, will determine the stem unit assembly needed. If you are installing lever (L-Shaped) handles, we recommend to use brass stem unit assemblies, RP24096. If you are using plastic, acrylic (knob-shaped) handles, we recommend to use RP1740. Best Regards, Rosanna

Faucet leak on hot water / took out set screw on handle but it will not come up and off to replace valve. Any suggestions

Asked by: Dutch1
Hi Dutch1, Thank you for your question. Try soaking a towel in a 50/50 solution of vinegar and water and wrapping the towel around the handle. The longer you let it soak in, the better the solution will work. This should help break up the mineral build up that is holding the handle on allowing it to be removed so you can make your repair. Thanks, Dave

BT2796-SS HOT handle mounted backwards.

Installed a Windemere Roman Tub trim kit to replace a Brass an existing Classic install. Hot handle is pointing RIGHT and backwards, Cold is facing Right and frontwards. Rotated the Stem on the HOT with no luck. Seat and Spring located on the right of the Hot valve. How do I rotate the stem to get handle in the Left position front ?
Asked by: rinkrat
Thank you for your question. When placing the cartridges into the valve of Delta Faucet model # BT2796-SS, make sure that the tab sticking up is on the right side of the end valve. This will allow your handles to work correctly. You may have to turn your end valve to accomplish this.

Hi I was just reading some Qand A. Regarding the RP24096. I was told this is the part I need to fix my bathtub faucet. I have 2 round clear knob han

In an answer I read that I need RP 1740, that RP2409Y is for faucets with lever handles. Now I'm confused. Also does this include the knob?
Asked by: Teresa
Hi Teresa, Thank you for your question. The RP1740 and RP24096 work in the same valves. We recommend to use the RP1740 if you have knob handles to help prevent the screw from seizing to the stem. The knob is not included with the stem unit. The handles are H61. http://www.deltafaucet.com/repairparts/details/h61.html Best regards, Jon

i am replacing a RP24096 stem on a shower assembly

how do i keep the seat and spring (7PB4993) in place while replacing the stem on a horizonal shower assembly?
Asked by: Lee
Hi Lee, Thank you for your question. The spring should be inserted with the larger side down and the smaller/tapered side facing out. The rubber seat will cover the tapered end of the spring. If you put the seat and spring together on the end of an allen wrench you can position them in the opening in the valve body, slide them off, and push them into place. They should stay far enough in the valve body for you to install the stem assembly. Make sure to always use genuine Delta parts in your faucet as failing to do so will void the product warranty. Thanks, Dave
