Drain plug will not stay down.
Was not able to use the tub even one time. The drain plug will not stay down to seal the drain. It is a very cheap plastic cartridge, and not a premium part worth $130. Are replacement cartridges available instead of buying the entire drain plug assembly?

Stopper Broke Off
My drain started draining slower so I tried to unscrew the stopper so I could properly clear the drain. The stopper wouldn't even budge. Eventually I turned it hard enough to snap it right off. Even though this was meant to unscrew, it did not unscrew without breaking. Very bad design.

Haven't even been installed a week and this drain assembly will not function properly. I thought better of your products Delta. You definitely need to have this re-engineered because what I have is a useless peice of junk. And I'm not the first I see.

bought this for the color/finish to match despite the poor reviews...Figured they must be doing something wrong. NOPE
Tub drain lasted maybe 5-6 uses and it broke and won't engage/disengage
I'm a contractor and bought this for my own home and its just as all the reviews say. Top dollar for low quality.

Poor Finish
Poor design. The stopper gets stuck and the venetian bronze finish has completely come off. Deltas finishing process isn't the greatest. I have spent over $4000 on delta products from shower to tub to faucets for the sinks.

My son managed to unscrew the entire assembly, now in pieces. Do you have a diagram showing how the internal parts go back together?
Thank you for your inquiry, Alyabk! The Delta Tub Drain Stopper and Flange RP31558 is not designed to be taken apart, besides the stopper unscrewing out of the flange. We do not have a diagram of the parts and there are no internal parts made for them.

How do I remove the push down part to clean the drain with a snake. I have tried to unscrew it and have not had any luck.
Thank you for your question, Jeff! The stopper can be removed by unscrewing it counter-clockwise from the flange. If it seems stuck, it may help to use a flat rubber jar opener to help grip it

I need just the specifications for the toe operation plug itself - not the entire assembly.

Thanks for reaching out! The top of the stopper is 1 15/16" in diameter. The threads on the flange are 1 1/2" and 11 1/2 TPI, and the top of the flange is 2 13/16" in diameter.

I am replacing the roman tub faucet assembly and would like the drain trim to match. Can I unscrew the existing drain plug assembly that goes thru the bottom of the tub and install a new color matched plug, all from within the tub?

Thank you for your question. The Delta Tub Drain Stopper and Flange RP31558 is designed to fit standard tub drains. The waste plug flange is 1 1/2" and the waste plug threads are 5/16" -16 threads. We do not manufacture a drain assembly for a roman tub/jacuzzi/whirlpool/garden tubs.

Replacing other tub drain
We have a Delta lift and turn tub drain stopper. It has never really worked correctly since the beginning. I believe the tub drain stopper was part of the Linden collection, but it could just be a standard lift and turn stopper. Will we be able to switch this tub drain in for the lift and turn stopper, or would it require a professional help? Pictures below
Hi David, Thank you for your question. Unfortunately the dimensions for the drain assembly threads and the stopper threads on the twist and lock and toe touch models are different and cannot be switched out.

I need a Delta champagne bronze tub stopper that fits 1.25”. Will this work?

The stopper screw threads are 5/16" - 18. The flange measurements are:
Outer Diameter: 2.83"
Inner Diameter: 1.60"
Depth: 1.37"
Shank Threads: At least 1" long with .3125-18 UNC-2B threading.

I was told this tub drain would match my Sandover tub/shower faucet set, but it doesn't come in brushed nickel? Is there a Delta tub drain that does come in that finish? And why does this tub drain cost over $100? And it doesn't even match?

As others have noted this RP31558 has problems with sealing. Several people mentioned adjusting it & replacing the O ring and rubber seal. Please advise the part number for the rubber seal & how to make adjustments.

The rubber gasket around the stopper assembly of the Delta Faucet Drain - Tub In Champagne Bronze MODEL#: RP31558CZ is not designed to be removed. The gasket helps seal and close off the drain when trying to hold water in the tub. If the stopper is not sealing properly, then I would recommend replacing the stopper completely.

My wife purchased this tub drain (champagne bronze) and the external threads are too large. I believe this new one is 1-7/8" and the old one is 1-5/8" thread. Do you make this tub drain in the smaller external thread size?

I ordered RP31558CZ but it requires a 1 7/8" tub hole. My tub is cast iron and has a 1 1/2" hole. Is there a corresponding drain for with the smaller diameter?

I received this item new off Amazon and it does not have the nut/screw to attach the drain to the tub. Is this something that needs to be ordered separately. If so it is not specified.
