Is this also called the mounting ring as 1 is missing from my r4707?
Hi Big "D", Thank you for your question. The RP40505 is known as the top washer. It is the piece that holds the end valve assembly to the deck during installation. I have included a link to the parts breakdown of the R4707 below.

Do I require this part in conjunction with part no. 40666 to install the hand held shower?
