Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor service Less than a week after install, it leaks more than the original. When I ordered the replacement parts the customer service personsaid they would email a diagram for installation. None was sent and I can't find the instructions on the website. I just want to see the schematic for how it all goes together to see if that might explain where the leak is coming from. It should not be this hard to find help.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Breaks on a regular basis Just like clockwork, every year or two I have to replace this part, the lift rod, or some related part of the roman tub assembly. For Delta's products to be so expensive, they hardly seem worth it. As soon as I can afford it, I will be replacing the entire tub assembly with a different brand. In the meantime, I'm back again, ordering this part.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stripped threads Stripped threads in diverter valve assemble where lifter rod attaches. Same as everyone else. These are not cheap faucet sets. I’d certainly expect higher quality and design.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Diverter valve When I got it there was a small gap on the plastic on the bottom. I needed to get it replaced so I put it in. It works but it allows water to come out of facet. Should have returned it but because of circumstance I needed to get it in.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor quality Having the same issues as everyone is, the lift hand to the diverter is stripped and pulls right out. Poor design. And 70 dollars to fix is very upsetting.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Weak design I agree with the other reviews. Less than 2 years and stripped out. It barely gets used, can’t imagine buying another.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Threads stripped. Faucet was repaired in January of '23. It's may of '24 and after trying to deal with it for months, this faucet has stripped the threads off the lift knob again. I saw a recommendation to cut the spring so I might try that. 70 dollars to be able to turn on my shower in a year and a few months. Very defeating feeling. Especially for someone new to disability.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Bronze threads strip out too easily I agree with Allen that there is a design flaw with this product. That bronze threaded sleeve that connects the valve to the finial is not robust enough. The threads on this piece have stripped out on mine as well. Other than that the product looks and functions great.

Q&A

I have a brand new roman tub fixture with hand shower but I get only slight pressure when I engage the diverter. How do I replace the diverter? The pull rod turns freely in both directions and will not unscrew from the diverter.

Asked by: Timmy
Hello, Timmy! Thank you for your question. To replace the diverter, you will want to first turn the water off at the supply valve. Remove the spout assembly by unscrewing the set screw that is located on the back of the tub spout counterclockwise. Once the set screw is removed, the tub spout assembly can be lifted off. Unscrew the diverter assembly and screw the new diverter assembly into place. If you should need more assistance, please contact our Delta Customer Service line at (800)345-3358. We are available Monday-Friday, 7am-7pm, CST and Saturday, 8am-5pm, CST. You may also email at customerservice@deltafaucet.com. Best Regards, Rosanna

I have a roman tub fill spout with a hand shower. The original diverter interior thread stripped and would not engage. I replaced it with the RP40668 diverter, however, when the diverter engages it shuts off all water flow to the fill and shower. Help.

Asked by: Eric
Hi Eric, Thanks so much for contacting Delta Faucet Company about RP40668! I am sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused, We do recommend flushing the valve when installing the new diverter. Hello, may I know the part number for the lift rod of my RP40668 diverter? Apparently, it is not the same as RP50858. The other end of my lift rod is threaded whereas the RP50858 is NOT threaded. Please advise so I can order the right part. Thanks, Jon

I have a new RP 40668 but it came with no install istructions nor a manual.

Asked by: Brian
Hi Brian, Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet RP40668. Instructions to install the diverter are included with the tub filler trim. Typically, you first remove the spout and thread the diverter to the lift rod inside the spout. Then, slide the spout and diverter onto the valve's spout adapter and tighten the spout with a set screw. See here or the instructions for your tub filler trim model for more information: https://media.deltafaucet.com/MandI/108191%20Rev%20F.pdf Please reach out with any additional questions! My Delta Roman tub faucet with hand shower, leaks from hand shower when I turn on hot or cold valve without diverter pulled up. Works correctly when pulled up. I replaced diverter and still happens. Is there a solution?

Asked by: Tim P
Hi Valued Customer, Thank you for your question regarding our Delta Faucet RP40668. The issue you are experiencing is what we call shower rise, there can be one of several reasons for shower rise: • The valve could be upside down. • The length from the valve to the tub spout is outside of the 8" to 18" rule. • There is more than one 90-degree angle elbow. • Something other than ½" smooth copper or galvanized pipe was used going to the spout. No push fittings. No "shark-bite" fittings. No cast or drop ear elbows. • Something restricting the water flow to the spout, e.g. solder or something lodged in the pipe. If this is the cause of shower-rise it is possible to remove the blockage by removing the tub spout; then, feeding a plumber’s snake or a speedometer cable up through the tub drop. The act of feeding it causes it to twirl and loosen the blockage. Be sure to flush the valve before reinstalling the tub spout. Be sure to check the tub spout itself for blockage. Sending a shower cartridge will NOT fix this issue. The obstruction from the valve to the tub outlet must be remedied. Feel free to contact us directly, so we can further assist you with this matter.
