not he right part for this model
I ordered this part to replace the old part and noticed that the new part did not have a pre drilled screw hole as the old part did. I went ahead and replaced the part without the screw and the faucet still dripped. You are better off keeping the old part and just replace the seals and springs which fixed the leak. The quad had part#41534 stamped on it but its N/a to purchase.

Leaking shower head
I purchased the Ashlyn In2ition with integrated volume control (Part #17464 ss I ) and had
it installed in our guest bathroom. With in 3 months my shower head began leaking. Now I'm told I need to replace the the seats, springs and cartridge in the rough in valve ( Part # R10000 UNBX ), very disappointed this purchase.

Still leaks
The shower faucet still leaks. I didn’t have any oring lube to put on during the install. Don’t think that was the issue though. Not quite sure where the leak is coming from. The old prints took a bit of a set, but that shouldn’t be the problem with the new orings. Next time I take apart will check out for scratches on the sealing face of the cartridge.
This is a new house install a couple years ago, but I don’t have any documentation for warranty purposes

Cartridge RP46463 the grey part has cracked. Can I purchase just the grey part ? I don't need new cartridge.

We are installing a new 17 Series shower head and handle will this item allow us to connect to the 14 Series installed cartridge?

Thank you for your question. If your original shower was installed after September 2006, you should have a MulitChoice valve, which will allow you to install any current trim kit. Units made prior to this time frame will not allow you to change the series of trim. Older units have a cartridge with a white top, newer models have a gray top.

Why does a new RP46073 not have screw hole in it? Is it not needed?
Hi Lew, Thank you for your question. The new RP46073 does not require that the adaper be screwed into the valve body. If not installed properly the screw on the older model would damage the cartridge.

Thank you for your question, Billy! The RP46073 adapter assembly is included with the RP46463 cartridge. In most cases, a drip can be resolved by replacing the adapter assembly.

There are screws in the diagram... but not on the item image
The image above shows two pieces. The diagram and clickable pdf shows washers and screws. Do the washer and screws come with this piece, that's all I really need.

The rp46073 adapter was redesigned. It originally has a screw in the center to tight down to the older valve body. The valves n longer have a hole so the adapter was redesigned.

Any instructions on how to remove temperature control knob on Delta DT17259 Valve Trim Multichoice Trinsic shower faucet to replace cartridge adapter? I feel I am going to break the knob or something more important when I pull on it.

Thank you for your question. The temperature cover on the Delta Monitor T17259 shower valve trim simply pulls straight off to expose a Philip's screw holding the temperature knob.

Why does this not look like the parts in the Owner's manual
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # RP46073 has a tool for applying the quad seals to the valve. This may not be included in the picture in your manual. If you can tell us what model number you have, I can look up that specific one to find out how it is different.

I have a delta shower 13/14 series, after 2006 so gray cartridge. The adapter no long is available, will the Adapter kit Multichoice for 17 series RP46073 work or I do I need to replace the cartridge or other parts
Thank you for your question, llewellin! The Rp46073 adapter is the correct part for a current Multichoice 17 series cartridge Rp46463 which has a grey cap. The older 1700 series cartridge with a white cap includes all parts needed for installation.

Update finish
I have a delta 14 series pre2006. What are my options for trim kits to update from chrome to rubbed bronze? I purchased a bronze trim kit 14-17 to find out the adapter does not line up and you do not make an adaptor for pre2006 models. Is this correct? I do not want to tear our the entire faucet, just update the finish with a bathroom remodel.

Hi Whit, Thank you for your question. You can use any of the current T13/T14 series trims with your pre 2006 rough in valve. The new trims will ship with a new cartridge, this cartridge will not work with your existing valve. You will need to continue to use your existing cartridge or replace it with a new RP19804. The T17, and T17T trims will not work.

Next, pop off the temperature dial cover and remove the Phillips head screw. Note the position of the Rotational Limit Stop (RLS), then remove the RLS, the handle assembly, and the sleeve. Unscrew the bonnet nut (strap wrench is recommended if it does not come off by hand), then pull out the cartridge. Remove the adapter and install the new one. The existing adapter may have a small screw holding it in place, but newer versions do not use a screw.

trying to replace the trim on a 2001 1700 series dual control shower with a single control one. don't want to have to replace the valve if possible. are there cartridges that mirror the size of the cartridge we have with the metal end of the single contr
Thank you for your question, Christie! The 1700 series can not be converted to a single handle model unfortunately. The newer MultiChoice Universal valves such as the R10000-UNBX, will however allow you to change between series.

The existing adapter has no screw. How do I get it out?
The RP 46073 Adapter can be pulled out using a simple paint can opener and getting the 'hook' of the opener over the top and behind the adapter. Then with a little pull, it came out pretty easily. The adapter needs a pull from behind. I also tried a variety of ways to 'grab and pull' the adapter out, but that did not work.

My universal rough in has a cartridge adapter with a screw. I have removed the screw, but cannot get the adapter to come out. How is the best way to get it out?

You can gently use a pair of needle nose pliers and wiggle the adapter out of the rough in valve.

I need to replace the spout and handles for a roman faucet on jacuzzi tub that was installed in 1994. Is there a spout and handles that will fit? Or adapter? Or will I need to replace the faucet valves inside the jacuzzi?

Our roman tub trim kits are interchangeable if the original spout has a set screw on the back, unfortunately, if there is no set screw located on the back of the spout then the rough end would need to be replaced as well.

My delta shower valve handle has no hex set nut. There is a grey plastic insert in the lever handle. Do I remove the insert to reveal a screw head holding the handle? If so how is it removed?
I just got a 17 Series Cartridge Adapter (seal, springs plastic adapter etc). How do I remove the old one as it does not have a screw to unscrew . Can I just pull it out with needle nose pliers? I just don't want to damage the valve stem. Thanks

This adapter will fit valves with or without a screw hole. If the adapter is not attached with a screw, it will be held in place by friction and can be pulled straight out.

How to replace the seat on a delta 17 series cartridge for shower ? The new seat has a screw the old seat does not. How is the old seat removed?

Thank you for contacting Delta Faucet Company and we are happy to help. To replace the seats and springs on a 17 series cartridge, you will first need to shut off the water. Then you will need to use an allen wrench to remove the set screw underneath the handle and from there remove the sleeve. The seats and springs should come out of the cartridge by hand, the top of the cartridge will have the rotational limit stop which does not need to be removed. After I turn off the water to replace this part, and relieve the water pressure at the tub, do I need to turn the water back on after installing this part and before replacing the cartridge?

When installing this part, the water supplies should be left off until the cartridge is in place and the bonnet nut is securely hand tightened.
It is a good idea to run the water supplies for a couple of minutes before installing the RP46073 cartridge adapter to flush out any debris in the valve or water supplies. This will shoot water out of the valve and across the shower.

17 series shower head dripping. purchased from Plumbing supply house RP46463 and installed. Noticed new replacement Adapter had no provisions for screw. Installed all new parts from kit per instructions and Shower head still drips, even worst.

It is possible that flushing the product could resolve this issue. To do this, turn off the water supplies, remove the cartridge, and turn the supplies back on for one minute.
Please make sure that you are getting good flow through both the hot and cold sides while flushing. You can also shake the cartridge back and forth to make sure the back half of the cartridge rattles. This means that the pressure-balancing spool is moving freely, as it should.

How do I remove the old one?
Good evening, My bathroom has the 1800 series ( pre 20006) installed. I am exeperiencing leaks via the jets. Will changing the RP32104 catridge for the RP 46463 solve my leaking problem? Or should I just repace the RP32104 cartridge and seals?

The RP46463 MultiChoice cartridge would not fit correctly in a valve made before 2006.
If the jets are leaking while the faucet is off, we recommend replacing the RP28603 Seats, Springs & Quad Rings (2) and cleaning and flushing the valve.

If the jets are leaking while the faucet is on, we recommend two sets of RP4993 seats and springs to replace the three seats and springs in the diverter cartridge.
