1 year old house shower faucet leaking..
i just noticed the leaky shower faucet in the hall and very disappointed. Ryan homes used Delta products. I looked at the price of the cartridge and is very expensive I'm not handy either to replace it myself. I know things break or wear out but not this quick. If you buy a new house use another brand.

Leaking stupid
Installed this past January and started leaking all the time. SAD! Going to try and replace cartridge. That's what you get for not reading reviews. But everyone said Delta products were so good, not sure of that.

Poor quality - Continues to Leak- Disappointed
Do not buy this cartridge model RP46074. I bought it twice Dec 2023 and second Jan 2024 to fix my shower and determine my own review. It’s a poor product. It continues to leak, I agree with all the other 1star reviews. We followed all your recommendations and watch several videos for resolutions hacks.
Delta, the continued response of “I’m sorry - quality – workmanship -testing etc “ over the YEARS is inadequate. How is Delta’s statement “Please reach out for further assistance or with any questions! beneficial resolution to the customer?
February 2024, the second cartridge is still leaking.

Same dripping shower!!!
I have replaced this cartridge a total of three times trying to stop the leak. I cannot believe Delta stands behind this product when you read all the reviews here. It has cost me $300+ and to replace these stupid things and untold hundreds (maybe thousands) on my water bill. I have tried not to tear into my beautiful tile shower but I can't take this drip anymore. I am going to rip out my shower and start over...and no, I will not be using Delta.

Dripping immediately after install
Cartridge is already dripping after one total use. Orings are in perfect shape. Has to be a faulty cartridge. Terrible quality for the price.

Easy to install but instructions are incomplete
Relatively easy to install. The directions on the box don't give instructions on how to increase the water temperature, so I had to uninstall it and figure it out. The small plastic cover over the temperature adjustment is delicate, so be careful when removing.

Slow constant dripping
This cartridge only lasts a short time until you need to replace. Mine is dripping again after a year or so and I don’t have the money to keep purchasing replacements. Hoped for better quality from Delta but have been let down.

Delta RP46074
I installed 3 of these valves in our bathroom updates over 2 years ago. They have worked flawlessly and the trim accessories still look great.
I would highly recommend these cartridges if you want a simple reliable control that is easy to maintain and inexpensive to reseal when needed. My last Delta valves lasted over 15 years before reseal was needed.

Slow Drip After 1 Year
I wish I would have read the reviews before buying my Delta Lorain shower set. I had a full remodel done on my bathroom a year ago and chose the Lorain set based on looks alone. It is nice looking, but only one year old now and it has a slow leak when in the off position. Obviously a known problem due to the vast amount of reviews with the same issue.

Brand new; leaks already!
I had this product in the house since it was built in 1989. Recently, the showerhead began to leak. I figured it had served its lifespan and bought a RP46074 replacement to replace it. I'm not new to replacing plumbing fixtures. I have installed and RE-installed a few times now and it simply won't stop leaking. Garbage.

Junk
This faucet cartridge is absolute junk. Most expensive faucet set I have ever purchased and it’s absolute junk!!! The tub faucet handle constantly has to be taken apart and be re-adjusted. We have all delta faucets and have for years, but DO NOT BUY THIS ONE… YOU WILL REGRET IT IF YOU DO!!!

Shouldn’t even be sold .
Client purchased this against my advice . Started leaking immediately. Tried to reseat the valve guts , then wouldn’t shut off at all . Kept messing with it another hour . Then looked up the specs and reviews . Why would you even sell this piece of junk? Cost the clients a lot of money for a product that never works . Don’t buy this product or any other from this out of country manufacturer. What a piece of junk . Hans Groe may be expensive but never have an issue with them .

Solid body as always - defective cartridge design
I've had Delta faucets for 30 years... no issues with any of them. Install them everywhere at properties I have. The newer design post 2006 with these cartridges is faulty, regardless of what support says and regardless of whenever testing they do. It's insufficient. They start leaking within days to weeks. On my 3rd replacement now. Had to eat the first one because I bought from the plumber - no warranty when buying from 3rd party. Didn't think it would matter since Deltas never break. Well, that was the old Delta, I guess. The new stuff is too complex and it leaks. There are thousands of reviews showing this on the net and when you go by the cartridge at Lowes or Home Depot, they are all open from being returned - because this design leaks. That's just what it does. I have purchased my last Delta faucet. I real shame what they have allowed to happen here, in the name of saving water. Instead, they all drip all the time, wasting much more water than whatever they are designed to save. It's been years. It's time to replace this design but I will not buy any more of these until that happens.

Crap Product - whistles after 10 months
We noticed a few weeks ago that our bath tub faucet whistles when turned to the hot water selection. This is new construction and only 10 months old. I sure hope Delta will be replacing this under warranty, but super disappointing that I had to deal with this alraedy.

Lifetime Warranty - Customer Service
My builder installed 4 Delta Faucets in the showers of my new home when I had it built 11 years ago. They have done well until last year when they started dripping when in the off position. I thought, no problem since they come with a lifetime guarantee. I’ll just change out the cartridges as the plumber recommended. Too bad customer service and a supervisor doesn’t think they require new cartridges. They only want to replace the bushings and springs. I asked why they wouldn’t replace the cartridge and the response was that they only need new springs and bushings. This means I would have to take the cartridges apart for that. So, they offer to sell me new cartridges for 50% off retail of $120. Wow, I can buy them for less at Lowes ($53) and have them immediately rather that wait the 8 - 10 days to ship. I guess Delta’s warranty Department would rather you have dripping/leaking faucets for two weeks only. Why even have a warranty if you are not going to honor it for what it truly needs. Highly disappointed.

Great Delta Shower Assembly, but not cartidge
I bought the Delta h2okinetic shower head with wand and tub assembly. The shower head and wand work excellent. I’d highly recommend them. Though, the cartridge did not last even a year. I have a constant drip and it’s pretty frustrating.

Leaky Sink&Shower after 3 years in brand new house
When we built our house, our builder required that we use Delta for all our sinks, tubs, showers, etc. We had no choice but to use them, and now our Kitchen faucet sink leaks and one of our bathroom shower/tub combo units leak after 3 years. I'm not impressed with the quality of Delta and wished we would have demanded that our builder used a different brand. It used to be that you needed to replace the seats and springs for a slow leak. These used to cost less than $5 to repair. But Delta changed the design and now requires you to buy an $80 part every 3 years. We plan on swapping out all our Delta products with a better brand over time as this is unacceptable.

Very disappointing
In a newly built house of less than 3 years, 2 out of the 3 Delta Monitor shower handles leak. One of the bathrooms is hardly ever being used so this means this is justo a cheaply made product. For an $80 cartridge, these should last much longer. I would not recommend Delta at this point.

leaky shower
we have been in our house for less than one year and now our shower is leaking. after reading many or the reviews on this page about this cartridge it looks like we are in the same boat as many of these reviewers with the cartridge failing after several months.
the fix to the leak seems to be replacing the cartridge. flushing the system hasn't worked for most of the reviewers on this page. pretty expensive fix for a highly rated product. i have had better luck in the past with delta faucets and so went with delta in our new house.
i will put in a call to my plumber and share the reviews on this page with him so that he has an idea of what the problem is and then pay him to replace the cartridge.

Brand new cartridge leaks
Amazing that the new cartridge leaks and determined that the o-rings that come with the new pressure balance cartridge are smaller than the original ones that came with the old cartridge I removed. I even wire brushed the brass valve body where the o-rings sit into and still leaks past the o-ring boss. took out the old pressure balance cartridge and replaced the springs and seals with the new ones, along with the front half that is the hot cold shut off valve. So i have the old pressure balance cartridge, new springs and seal and the new front half of the assembly that's the mixing valve. Amazing for a very expensive part, I have to rebuild it just to get the water to stop. Forget about calling the company with 35 calls ahead of you and a 1:30 minute wait. I'll waste an early morning trying to call for service.

Leaky valve
We had our valves replaced on our two showers three times under the new house warranty. Now we’re out of warranty and they still leak. I hired a licensed plumber to fix them both by installing new valves and again four months pass and they leak again. Plumber came out and said there known to leak because the springs get weak and are unable to hold a seal. A temporary fix is to twist the valve open to expose the rubber seals and stretch the springs underneath them and reinstall.
