PRODUCT FEATURES
Single-function valve cartridge controls the temperature at full output flow. Monitors water pressure to balance temperature. All Delta® tub and shower faucets are engineered to keep the water temperature within a safe ±3.6° F (±1.7° C)*. This technology makes sure your family doesn’t experience a sudden and possibly unsafe change in water temperature as a result of running water elsewhere, such as using a dishwasher, flushing a toilet or running a washing machine. The valve cartridge features an adjustable handle limit stop that, when properly set, helps ensure the handle cannot be turned to a position that is too hot for comfort*. The handle limit stop's integrated design allows easy adjustment via pull and turn. Easily replaced seals make maintenance a snap. This cartridge is included with tub and shower trim packages. *Requires inlet water temperature be set correctly. May require seasonal adjustments.
  • Monitor® single-function pressure balance cartridge
  • Use with MultiChoice® 13/14 Series tub & showers produced after March 2006
  • Allows for temperature control
  • Integrated rotational limit stop

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor customer service and cartridge. I redid the three showers in our house less than two years ago. I had Delta products installed by a contractor because I thought the quality was superior and they are suposed to have excellent customer service. Now one of the facets is leaking. I couldn't be more disapointed in my call to their customer support group. She didn't even ask me about the facet or the replacement part. She simply said, "we don't replace cartridges". I'm sad that Delta didn't stand behind their product and provided such curt customer support. She didn't even offer to have me purchase a new cartridge from them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Leaked after 2 years Horrible and plastic. Our contractor installed the Delta R1000 that comes with this cartridge in 2024. We redid the shower so we could get a wheelchair into it. It started leaking in May 2025 and I don’t have a receipt. Lucky me, get to spend $100 to replace a lifetime warranty. Don’t recommend due to cheap materials and poor service

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Trash I switched to Delta because Moen cartridges kept going bad after less than a year. Now every single one of the Delta showers (4) I put in my houses are leaking after only a year or two. Terrible quality. Delta should be ashamed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad customer service and fake warranty Went for a 3-weeks vacation and came back to my shower leaking hot water. Walls in my shower was moldy and there are moisture behind the wall. Mitigation and redo cost more than $20k. Had to get a new RP46074 cartridge and called delta to see if they will honor their lifetime warranty but was denied! To get to the cartridge, the handle needed to be removed but the set-screw was seized and after several tries, the 1/8 hex key hole was rounded (robertson or star bit would be a better choice) so had to drill it out. Looking for a replacement set screw was a huge deal and an exceptional challenge - Lowes and Home Depot do not have them. 0 star!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible product. Class action should be filed. I purchased a Delta OEM RP 46074 cartridge in November of 2025 and by December it was leaking from the shower head. Pulled it out, flushed the line, greased it and replaced it and in a few days it was leaking again from the shower head. It cost $65 and I bought it at Home Depot. I go online to research and I find this page with hundreds of people complaining about the same thing. I will never buy Delta again. I am a lawyer and I live in Pennsylvania. Cannot believe Delta would put such a terrible product on the market and do nothing at all to fix it. Does anyone at Delta care? Apparently not.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Would not recommend. Starts to leak every 3 to 6 months. Replaced the O-rings and the cartridge twice. Last time I replaced the cartridge was November 2024. Correction, that is when I ordered it. Didn't arrive for 3 more weeks. It was a constant stream of water. I had to shut the water off to my shower after every use. The worst part is it's not even a good shower. The water pressure for the shower is weak.70% is plastic. Would not recommend.

Q&A

hot cold directions reversed

installed this cartridge and hot and cold direction are reversed. removed it and reinstalled in opposite direction, same result. Should reversing it correct this issue? Thanks
Asked by: GM NJ
Hi GM NJ, Thank you for your question. The RP46074 cartridge will have "Hot Side"on the second tier down on the gray plastic portion. As long as that is pointed to your hot supply side the cartridge and handle will function normally. The handle when installed correctly on the faucet will travel from the 3 o-clock (off) to the 12 o-clock position (fully on). The handles does fit on 2 ways, just make sure it is oriented correctly. Thanks, Dave

I don't know which replacement part I should order. It looks like rp19804 or rp46074, and the color is grey/off white. It's from the builder in 2015.

Asked by: alex
Hi, alex! Thank you for your question. The Delta part number RP46074 would be for a valve that was installed after 2006. The Delta RP198904 is for a valve that was installed before 2006. Best regards, Themar

What is the maximum flow rate for the tub filler RP46074 cartridge used in the T4759-FL?

Asked by: Soaker
Hi, We thank you for your question. The floor mount tub filler flows at a rate of 6-9 gallons per minute with the pressure balanced cartridge RP46074 and 10-12 GPM using the high flow RP73598 cartridge depending on your household water pressure. Best regards, Brandis

I installed a new shower faucet RP46074 but the water pressure is minimal, and very low coming out of the shower head.

When I remove the cartridge and turn on the main valve, there is plenty of pressure, but with the cartridge installed, pressure is substantially reduced. I bought a spare cartridge and installed it with the same results. How can I increase the output flow? Are there any mods or alternate cartridges that will yield more flow?
Asked by: Kim
Hi Kim, Thank you for your question. At 60psi your RP46074 cartridge should provide approximately 6 gallons of water per minute. The showerhead itself is what limits the water flow. You will want to remove the showerhead and make sure there is no debris restricting the flow in the head. Also check the flow without the showerhead in place to help flush the line. Our showerheads have flowrates of 1.5 to 2.5 gallons per minute depending on the trim. Thanks, Dave

Trim compatibility

Will the trim only (the escutcheon, single lever, trim sleeve, etc) from the B112900 Foundations 1-Handle Shower faucet fit on a RP46074 cartridge installed in a R10000-UNBX valve? The B112900 trim looks extremely similar to the Monitor 13 T13220 kit (P19809 escutcheon and H79 handle kit), which is compatible with the RP46074 cartridge. Thanks.
Asked by: SD
Hi Sd, Thank you for your question. Unfortunately the B112900 and B114900 Foundation faucets are the only tub/shower trims we offer that will not fit the R10000-UNBX rough. Any current T13/T14 series trims will fit the RP46074 cartridge and rough. Thanks, Dave

For a drip when off, the RP4993 seats and springs can be changed instead by twisting the upper portion of the cartridge assembly cap off. Is the internal moving part of the balancing brass or copper

I am in an area of the world were brass does hold up. The properties in the water adhere to the metal making any moving parts non- functional. We currently have Symmons in place and replace the spindle assembly every 45 to 60 days. We are now looking at your product as a replacements.
Asked by: Tony
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # RP46074 is composed of non-metallic materials and stainless steel. There are no brass components in this part. How to properly adjust pressure in the Delta 13/14 Series Faucet

A year ago I had a Delta 13/14 Series Faucet system installed in my shower and the pressure has been good. Last night the pressure seemed to double for no reason. Temp is still ok. We have had no recent disruptions in service or issues with our plumbing system.
Asked by: billjingo
Hi billjingo, Thank you for your question. The RP46074 cartridge controls temperature only, there is no pressure adjustment available on this model. The increase in pressure could be caused by debris that was in the lines or cartridge working its way loose and out of the faucet. Thanks, Dave
