I have a shower with a Delta 72122252 rough in valve. It was installed two years ago and now has a slow leak, Could it be the o-rings on the stem assemblies?

Asked by: Dennwols
Hi Dennwols, Please accept our sincere apology for the inconvenience you are experiencing. We are happy to help! The stops on the valve rough are only used to turn off the water for maintenance. A slow leak while off is typically caused by the rubber seats being damaged or worn. For a 14-series trim, we recommend replacing the RP4993 seats and springs in the legs of the cartridge. For a 17-series trim, we recommend replacing the RP46073 adapter behind the cartridge. Please reach out with any additional questions! Best Regards, Bryan Digital Communications Specialist

Also, I’ve turned each WS stop screw out exactly the same number of turns, but don’t get enough hot water when I adjust the black plastic temperature ring to reach 120 F max. Should I open the hot more turns?

Asked by: SueMcMurray
Hi SueMcMurray, Thanks so much for contacting Delta Faucet Company! The RP50366 stops would open for flow. However, if you are not receiving hot enough water, the RLS would need adjusted. https://support.deltafaucet.com/s/article/How-do-I-set-the-adjustable-rotational-limit-stop-on-my-bath-or-shower-1628028366789 Please contact us directly if you have any questions or need additional assistance. Do you make shorter stems or a plug that can fit in its place? My contractor installed the valve too far out and the stems are hitting the escutcheon.

Asked by: Joe S
Hello Joe S, Thank you for your question! I am happy to help you! Our Delta Faucet DELTA® Stem Assembly W/ O-Rings & Nuts MODEL#: RP50366 does not have shorter stems, also the plaster guard MUST be between flush or sub flush 3/8” to the wall. With this unit being installed to far out we would recommend to partially close the shut-off stops on the valve (no more than 3 turns inward from full open) without a noticeable reduction of flow. This also provides an additional 1/8” of clearance for the escutcheon. Thank you for being a loyal Delta customer. Please contact us back for any further questions. Best Regards, Nicole

Why do these have a California prop 65 lead warning and do they come in regular contact with the water?

Asked by: Stu34

Instead of of these stoppers do you sell plugs this size so I can cap off these holes in my R10000 rough in? I can't find them in a hardware store.

Asked by: Zeej
Hi Zeej, Thank you for reaching out to Delta Faucet Company! Our RP50366 are the hot and cold stoppers for our R10000-UNWS valve. When threaded completely, the water to the valve will be shut off for maintenance. We do not manufacture plugs for this part of the valve. We would recommend the R10000-UNBX which does not have stops. We appreciate your inquiry. Please reach out directly if you have further questions! Best Regards, Kyra Digital Engagement Specialist

Can these stops be used to adjust the hot/cold water mix to adjust the shower temperature? The water temp is took low in my shower at full-hot. If not, what else could be causing the low temperature?

Asked by: Mark
Hi Mark, Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet RP50366. The stops are not used to adjust temperature. If the maximum temperature is too low, I recommend adjusting the Rotational Limit Stop. See the installation instructions or videos here: https://support.deltafaucet.com/s/article/How-do-I-set-the-adjustable-rotational-limit-stop-on-my-bath-or-shower-1628028366789 Please reach out for further assistance or with any additional questions!
