Rated 5 out of 5 by None from Not title Nice easy assembly, and works like new again. Delta should think about adding a “maybe you might need” other parts here. Add a link and make it simple to order additional “ maybe I need this too parts” I would have replaced the brass retainer nut here when I had it apart. I’m sure on other assemblies one would buy o rings and other parts just in case.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Oneunhappybird from Will the third time be the charm? I have just replaced this part for the third time since we had the faucet installed in 2012. In related news, the set screw had to be drilled out because it was stuck. Now I need to replace the handle to the kitchen sink. Delta doesn't have a replacement part. Time to spend $200 to replace the whole kitchen faucet. Time to look at other faucet manufacturers.

Rated 2 out of 5 by HD55 from doesn't last new faucet started dripping about a year after installation? Replaced this part and after 10 months the leak started again. You have to jiggle the handle to stop the dripping, very annoying.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Ross from doesn't work Bought delta faucet and had it installed by a plumber. Faucet leaked from day one. Got replacement delta cartridge after installation I and had to fiddle with the valve every time to get it to shut off. Ready to drop my $190 faucet in the trash. The faucet looks great but that really doesn't help if it doesn't work.

Rated 2 out of 5 by timd from Seems to be cheaply made First the good - replacement on my single handle Delta faucet was easy. Now the not so good. The cartridge was a replacement installed into a 11946-SSSD-DST that is only a few years old. Our household is 2 people, so a mechanism with a "5 million cycle" test reliability seemed a safe bet. However, this is the second replacement cartridge I've installed. Operation was poor from new - it is very difficult to find the "center" or sweet spot to completely turn off the flow of water. In addition, gently pulling down the handle to its stopped position rarely completely stops the flow of water. The work around is to push the handle down with some speed in order to effectively "drive the valve home" to a fully closed position. In the last number of months, the cartridge also developed a noise issue, not really a grinding noise nor a squeaking noise, but definitely a friction noise. Since there is no alternative to these proprietary parts, the solution is either replace the cartridge again and hope for better results (probably not realistic, unless there was a manufacturing defect before) or replace the whole faucet, probably choosing an alternative to Delta since the cartridge appears to be the problem. I will update this review if over the next several months the new cartridge seems to outperform its predecessor.

Rated 1 out of 5 by eric from Same problem with cartridge Not able to stop water from leaking. Had to play with the handle to stop the leak. My product (16929-SD-SDT) is now discontinued and had to find its page from Google, not from the search from the model # on Delta website, a shame. Won't buy anymore Delta products.

what is the switch on the top for ?
Thank you for your question, bill c! The switch on the top is a Handle Limit Stop, which allows you to either have the full range of motion for temperature control or to limit the handle from going to the hot side. Best regards, Jon

All that needs replaced is the orange "O" ring on the bottom. Can I purchase these?
Hi, We thank you for your question. The gasket on the Delta RP50587 cartridge is not a item that can be purchased separately. The entire cartridge must be ordered. Best regards, Brandis

When replacing part# RP50587, what is the best process for removing the bonnet nut? Is a special wrench required? Diffcult to tell where to loosen.
Hi Amber, Thank you for your question. The RP50587 can be removed using an adjustable wrench. The top of the bonnet nut will have the flat edges where the wrench is positioned. Here is a link to the How to replace the DST cartridge. http://www.deltafaucet.com/shopping-tools/research/video-gallery/video.html?v=1KMlxNiWni8&cat= Thanks, Dave

I have a 9178 delta kitchen faucet and the handle is becoming hard to move and squeaks. It appears that I need a Cartridge - DIAMOND™ Valve - 1H Model#: RP50587. Is this is correct, are there any special tools I need for this project?
Hi, Steve_H! Thank you for your question, and I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing an issue with your Delta faucet. The correct valve cartridge assembly is RP50587. You will need a 1/8" allen wrench to remove the handle assembly. You may also need an adjustable wrench to loosen the bonnet nut around the valve cartridge assembly. Please be sure to turn off the water at the shut off valve before removing the handle. Best Regards, Rosanna

Is this the cartridge for the 955-DST? Also, is the cartridge the same quality wherever we purchase it? We would like to buy one and replace it today.
Hello Heather, Thank you for your inquiry! Yes, the RP50587 is the correct cartridge assembly for the Delta Victorian Pull-Down Kitchen 955-DST faucet. All Delta faucets and parts feature the same quality parts, materials, and workmanship, no matter what kind of dealer sells them. Delta retail dealers usually sell faucets that include the handles in the boxes. Plumbing professionals and Delta Studio Showrooms sell faucets where the faucets and handles are packaged and sold separately ("LHP" models), giving the customer some additional styling choices. However, the quality of all Delta faucets and parts are the same. Best regards, Tanya
