Rated 1 out of 5 by from Junk Like many other reviews, mine lasted about two years. You know how bad your product has to be to only have a 2.9 review rating? I guess they know they have you over a barrel, since it's buy another one or new faucet.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Quality Cartridge The product quality is very poor for this particular product. The cartridge typically only lasts about a year before it starts leaking and needs to be replaced. We are on the 5th replacement cartridge so far and it needs to be replaced again after less than a year being installed. We are on city water in the Metro Nashville area and have a filter on the water line as well so the problem shouldn't be with the quality of the water. And I'm having trouble getting through to Delta customer service right now as the 800-345-3358 number is not working either. Very dissappointed in the quality of this product even with the lifetime warranty because I have to change the cartridge every year. And, according to the other reviews I've read on the Delta website, a number of other people are having the same problem. The older style product with replaceable rubber gaskets was much more reliable and easy to service.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Useful Features I love my Leland Arctic Stainless kitchen faucet & Delta has been wonderful since I purchased it from them through Amazon in 2013. They've sent me many free replacement cartridges over the years, & even the water lines & a different spray head since then b/c I was putting up with something that I didn't realize shouldn't be happening. Evidently, this faucet has evolved since 2013 & I'm currently using a head they sent me that has 2 different types of sprays. It's time for a new cartridge under the handle b/c the spray head drips at times which is what happens when it doesn't dock properly as it's done so well in the past. Delta has evidently improved this cartridge also b/c it seems to have lasted much longer than in the past.

valve assembly for delta faucet 16955-sssd-dst

When you remove the handle, you can see where one of the 4 black tabs that click into the sleeve assembly is broken and one is missing. I have attached a picture. The one the allen wrench is pointing to is broken and the one next to it is missing. It appears that the blacks tabs are located on either the bonnet or the valve assembly. However, in the diagram for replacement parts, neither of these parts has the 4 black tabs on them. Can you tell me which part we need to buy?
Asked by: Tam
Hi Tam, Thank you for your question. The RP51481SS sleeve assembly is the part that has the 4 black tabs. http://www.deltafaucet.com/repairparts/details/rp51481ss.html?showPhotoGallery=false The tabs are an internal component to the sleeve. Thanks, Dave

how to replace the cartridge?

Asked by: James
Thank you for your question, James! In order to change the Valve Cartridge RP50587 part, it is advisable that you turn the water off to the unit or residence before proceeding. You will need a 1/8" or 3/32" allen wrench to remove the handle assembly set screw. You may also need an adjustable wrench to loosen the bonnet nut around the valve cartridge assembly. Once the bonnet nut is removed, the cartridge will pull straight out. Clean the valve body of any debris, then insert the new cartridge, screw on the bonnet nut and please be sure not to over-tighten the bonnet as we recommend tightening a 1/4 turn to a full turn past finger tight. Lastly attach the handle with the set screw and this repair is complete. Turn on the shut off valves below the counter slowly and test to make sure the water flows correctly. Please feel free to contact us directly if you have questions or need further assistance. https://media.deltafaucet.com/MandI/64211%20Rev%20A.pdf Best regards, Tanya

The red mix lever in the RP50587 cartridge in our faucet (less than 3 years old) will not stay in the mid position (equal hot and cold) but slides to the less volume full on hot position by itself. Do I have to replace the cartridge to fix?

Asked by: Kent
Hello Kent, Thank you for your question! The orange tab on the RP50587 valve assembly is the handle limit stop. The stop limits the handle motion to the hot water side. It only has two positions, it is not designed to be in between (middle) of the two positions. The cartridge comes in the full range setting from the factory. This information can be found on the installation guide that comes with the faucet that includes this cartridge. https://media.deltafaucet.com/MandI/64211%20Rev%20A.pdf Best regards, Tanya

What is the red switch for on top of the RP50587 cartridge and if it's an adjustment control how do i adjust it?

Asked by: bobkat
Thank you for your question, Bobkat! The orange/red switch on the top of the Delta Valve Cartridge RP50587 is a handle limit stop which is an optional safety feature that can be used to prevent the handle from moving too far to the hot side. When it is switched all the way to the left, the handle can turn to the hottest position. When it is kept to the right, this will limit the handle to turn only halfway to the hot side. My 980T-SS-DST has very, very limited temperature adjustment. The replacement valve is the same way. Any ideas?

The valve has never shown any functional problems, water flow is as expected with full range of motion for the action of the lever. The problem is an immeasurably small degree of temp adjustment at the center of the lever's range of motion. Move beyond the exact center and you have all hot or all cold, obviously depending on the side you move to. This is very frustrating. I spoke to customer service about this and another unrelated problem involving the touch control and they sent me a replacement valve, but the problem is the same; for practical purposes there is no temp adjustment it's all hot or all cold.
Asked by: Britain
Thank you for your question. I apologize that you are having trouble adjusting your temperature. We recommend turning the volume on at full power and then getting the temperature you would like. Once that is done, leave the faucet on and it will always go to that temperature.

Can a bad cartridge cause the sprayer to sputter and then cut off completely, also causing the main faucet to temporarily halt water flow?

Asked by: Steve
Thank you for your question, Steve! The issue you are describing is typically caused by debris entering the lines and blocking water at the base of the cartridge. Usually turning off the water supplies, removing the handle, bonnet nut and valve assembly cartridge and then simply rinsing off any debris will help resolve this issue. You can further flush the faucet but putting a bucket over the entire unit, turning the supplies back on for about a minute and directing the water into the sink. If the faucet is still showing signs of low flow after the cartridge, bonnet and handle can be returned, the Pex supply lines can be placed in a bucket one at a time, turning the opposite supply line back on to flush through the faucet and back out into the bucket. Please contact us directly if you have questions or need further assistance. Best regards, Edward Phone: 1-800-345-3358 | Email: customerservice@deltafaucet.com| Facebook/Twitter: @deltafaucet

Delta 955 faucet with Cartridge - DIAMOND™ Valve - 1H Model#: RP50587. Cold water - good, the hot water - very slow. Have isolated problem to water line from valve to house hot water line. Is this water line removable from valve? Thanks

Asked by: TSLove
Hi, TSLove! Thank you for your question, and I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing low flow. Over time, common water debris will settle in the house supply lines. Anytime the water is shut off to a portion of the home, this debris can become dislodged and will move through the pipes to be caught by a faucet. Local construction or the changing of the seasons can also cause this. Flushing the supply lines through the unit should remedy this situation. To flush the unit, we recommend the following: Start with the easy stuff: Remove your aerator, wand or hose to check the flow through the unit without that part installed. If the flow is good, the piece you’ve removed is where the issue is. Soaking the part in a 50/50 mixture of white vinegar and water could help remove any particles or debris blocking the flow. If the water does not have a good flow, the problem could be in the faucet. Next, check the supply lines for debris: Turn the supply off to both the hot and cold-water lines. Once off, turn the handle on the faucet to the on position and leave it there to bleed the lines of any excess water. Next, disconnect the hot water supply line and place it inside of a bucket. Once the line is securely positioned into the bucket, turn on the cold-water supply. Since the handle was left in the on position, the water will flow up the cold supply line, through the faucet cartridge and back down the hot water line into the bucket. Leave this flowing for at least 30 seconds. After flushing, reconnect the hot water line and repeat this process with the cold-water line to ensure all particles have been removed from both supplies. If you need further help with this process, please contact us directly and we can walk you through the procedure. We are available at 800-345-3358 (prompt 2, then 3), Monday through Friday, 8am to 8pm and Saturday, 9am to 6pm CST. Best Regards, Rosanna
