Rated 1 out of 5 by from Junk Like many other reviews, mine lasted about two years. You know how bad your product has to be to only have a 2.9 review rating? I guess they know they have you over a barrel, since it's buy another one or new faucet.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Quality Cartridge The product quality is very poor for this particular product. The cartridge typically only lasts about a year before it starts leaking and needs to be replaced. We are on the 5th replacement cartridge so far and it needs to be replaced again after less than a year being installed. We are on city water in the Metro Nashville area and have a filter on the water line as well so the problem shouldn't be with the quality of the water. And I'm having trouble getting through to Delta customer service right now as the 800-345-3358 number is not working either. Very dissappointed in the quality of this product even with the lifetime warranty because I have to change the cartridge every year. And, according to the other reviews I've read on the Delta website, a number of other people are having the same problem. The older style product with replaceable rubber gaskets was much more reliable and easy to service.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Useful Features I love my Leland Arctic Stainless kitchen faucet & Delta has been wonderful since I purchased it from them through Amazon in 2013. They've sent me many free replacement cartridges over the years, & even the water lines & a different spray head since then b/c I was putting up with something that I didn't realize shouldn't be happening. Evidently, this faucet has evolved since 2013 & I'm currently using a head they sent me that has 2 different types of sprays. It's time for a new cartridge under the handle b/c the spray head drips at times which is what happens when it doesn't dock properly as it's done so well in the past. Delta has evidently improved this cartridge also b/c it seems to have lasted much longer than in the past.

I have a Delta SAXONY® Single Handle Pull-Out Kitchen Faucet model#: 473, that is leaking at the Handle when I shut it off. Is this the replacement cartridge for this faucet?

Asked by: CeeJay
They all leak. New ones may last a year or two before leaking but it WILL drip!  It’s not in the water line, it’s the cartridge and all you can do is cash out $50 and replace it your self.

Are any other seals or parts required? Do i simply pull out the old cartridge, clean the area, then put in the new cartridge

Asked by: HUCK
Thank you for your question, HUCK! Typically if there is an issue with the function of the RP50587 cartridge, debris has entered the water lines and is trapped in the cartridge itself. Once the water is off and the cartridge is removed, it's advisable to clean the valve body thoroughly as well as perform a flush. This involves placing a bucket over the empty valve body, having a helper turn the water supplies back on fully for a minute or more while the water is directed into the sink. This ensures that any further debris is removed from the assembly and lines. Otherwise there are no other parts needed unless the bonnet nut appears to be damaged. Best regards, Edward

orange buttom on top, does that control water flow & are new ones set at max flow

Asked by: bubba
Hi Bubba, Thank you for your question. The orange button on the RP50587 valve assembly is the handle limit stop. The stop limits the handle motion to the hot water side. The cartridge comes in the full range setting. I have attached the portion of the manual that covers the HLS below. Thanks, Dave

Hi.  I bought the 16971-DST 5.5 years ago. The handle has been very hard to turn on and off water.  When shutting off the water, it won’t turn off cleaning, water just drips.  manual indicates this part - RP50587 -as the valve assembly..is this the issue?

I am trying to replace this in my faucet (400-DST-L) and cannot get the bonnet nut off. The directions give NO information about this. How should it be removed???

Asked by: AAmy
Hello AAmy, Thank you for your question! I would be more than happy to assist today. All of our bonnet nuts loosen by turning counter-clockwise. We recommend using a strap wrench and to apply force around the bonnet nut. A strap wrench also is "soft" so it will not damage the finish. If an adjustable wrench or pliers must be used, protect the bonnet with electrical or duct tape and have full contact with the wrench. Please contact us back for any further questions. Asked by: mel f
Hi mel! Thank you for your question and we are happy to help. The orange tab on the Delta RP50587 is the is handle limit stop which is an optional safety feature that can be used to prevent the handle from moving too far to the hot side. I've just replaced my cartridge (rp50587) on my Delta kitchen faucet. The drip is fixed but now I have low water pressure and my boost button does not work. What is going on?

Asked by: Debbie
Hello Debbie, Thank you for contacting Delta Faucet Company! I am sorry this information was not readily available on our Cartridge - DIAMOND™ Valve - 1H MODEL#: RP50587, and I am happy to help you! Low flow is caused by debris, we would recommend flushing the faucet. To flush the unit, we recommend the following: Start with the easy stuff: Remove your aerator, wand or hose to check the flow through the unit without that part installed. If the flow is good, the piece you’ve removed is where the issue is. Soaking the part in a 50/50 mixture of white vinegar and water could help remove any particles or debris blocking the flow. If the water does not have a good flow, the problem could be in the faucet. Next, check the supply lines for debris: Turn the supply off to both the hot and cold-water lines. Once off, turn the handle on the faucet to the on position and leave it there to bleed the lines of any excess water. Next, disconnect the hot water supply line and place it inside a bucket. Once the line is securely positioned into the bucket, turn on the cold-water supply. Thank you for being a loyal Delta Faucet customer. Please contact us back with any further questions. Best Regards, Nicole
