Rated 1 out of 5 by from Junk Like many other reviews, mine lasted about two years. You know how bad your product has to be to only have a 2.9 review rating? I guess they know they have you over a barrel, since it's buy another one or new faucet.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Quality Cartridge The product quality is very poor for this particular product. The cartridge typically only lasts about a year before it starts leaking and needs to be replaced. We are on the 5th replacement cartridge so far and it needs to be replaced again after less than a year being installed. We are on city water in the Metro Nashville area and have a filter on the water line as well so the problem shouldn't be with the quality of the water. And I'm having trouble getting through to Delta customer service right now as the 800-345-3358 number is not working either. Very dissappointed in the quality of this product even with the lifetime warranty because I have to change the cartridge every year. And, according to the other reviews I've read on the Delta website, a number of other people are having the same problem. The older style product with replaceable rubber gaskets was much more reliable and easy to service.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Useful Features I love my Leland Arctic Stainless kitchen faucet & Delta has been wonderful since I purchased it from them through Amazon in 2013. They've sent me many free replacement cartridges over the years, & even the water lines & a different spray head since then b/c I was putting up with something that I didn't realize shouldn't be happening. Evidently, this faucet has evolved since 2013 & I'm currently using a head they sent me that has 2 different types of sprays. It's time for a new cartridge under the handle b/c the spray head drips at times which is what happens when it doesn't dock properly as it's done so well in the past. Delta has evidently improved this cartridge also b/c it seems to have lasted much longer than in the past.

What is the red sliding switch on top of the cartridge for?  What determines which side it should be set to?

Asked by: Gary
Hi Gary, Thanks so much for contacting Delta Faucet Company! The orange/red switch on the top of the Cartridge DIAMOND™ Valve MODEL#: RP50587 is a handle limit stop which is an optional safety feature that can be used to prevent the handle from moving too far to the hot side. When it is switched all the way to the left, the handle can turn to the hottest position. When it is kept to the right, this will limit the handle to turn only halfway to the hot side. Please reach out with further questions! Best Regards, Kelley Digital Communications Specialist

I had a leaky faucet in my bathroom and I went ahead and bought a new cartridge to replace the older one. In spite of it, the faucet is still leaking! Can you help?

Asked by: pratap
Good morning pratap! Thank you for your review! I apologize for the leak you are experiencing when using the newly installed valve cartridge and I will be happy to help you. We do recommend flushing the valve when installing new cartridges. It will allow the removal of debris in the lines. Here are the steps for flushing a single handle lavatory faucet. Please shut water supplies off before starting this process. You will need 1/8” Allen wrench if you have lever handles, a Philips screwdriver if you have knob handles, needle nose pliers, a quarter, towel and bucket. 1. We are going to flush the diverter first; to do this we will need to remove the spout. Please unthread the spout bonnet counter-clockwise and pull the spout straight up to remove. Inside you will see a black plastic piece. This is your diverter. 2. Please place your quarter in the slots on the diverter and take your needle nose pliers to twist it out counterclockwise. 3. Place the bucket behind the spout and around ONE of the handles. Please turn both water supplies on. Please flush this out for about 30 seconds to a minute. To flush the valves: 4. Please remove your handle with the 1/8" Allen wrench if you have a lever or remove the top cap to reveal the Philips screw if you have a knob handle. 5. Please pull the handle off of the stem unit. 6. You will now see a bonnet nut, please remove with your wrench. 7. Please take note of how your stem units are installed in the valve. Please lift straight up to pull the stem units out. 8. If you look into the valve, you should see a seat and spring. Please pull these pieces out before we flush. 9. Please place the towel behind the back of the faucet then put the bucket over the top of the towel. 10. Please have someone turn the cold water supply on for about 30 seconds to a minute. After this, shut the cold water off and move the bucket and towel to the hot side, flush that out as well. 11. Remove the aerator and soak with a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water for about 15 minutes, and make sure to rinse the aerator off with water when completed. Please contact back for any further questions. Best Regards, Frank

Hi, I have a leaky faucet handle on my Pilar kitchen faucet 980T-SS-DST. Does this cartridge fit to repair it? Thank you

Asked by: Andy
Hello Andy, Thank you for your question! We apologize for the leak you are experiencing with your Delta Faucet Pilar® Single Handle Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet With Touch2O® Technology In Stainless MODEL#: 980T-SS-DST. We understand how frustrating this can be and will be happy to help you. The Delta Faucet Cartridge - DIAMOND™ Valve - 1H MODEL#: RP50587 can repair a leaking faucet. We also recommend flushing the supply line. Leaking is typically caused by the debris. If only one side is affected, there is debris in the supply line. To flush the supply line, first shut off the hot and cold-water supply. Remove the hot supply line from the shutoff valve and place the line into a bucket. Open the handle to the middle position, fully open, then turn the cold supply back on for one minute. The cold water should flow through the faucet and out the hot supply tube. Reconnect the supply line and turn on both supplies. Thank you for being a loyal Delta Faucet customer. We look forward to continuing to serve you. Please feel free to contact us back for further assistance. Best Regards, Kelley
