Like many other reviews, mine lasted about two years. You know how bad your product has to be to only have a 2.9 review rating? I guess they know they have you over a barrel, since it's buy another one or new faucet.

Poor Quality Cartridge
The product quality is very poor for this particular product. The cartridge typically only lasts about a year before it starts leaking and needs to be replaced. We are on the 5th replacement cartridge so far and it needs to be replaced again after less than a year being installed. We are on city water in the Metro Nashville area and have a filter on the water line as well so the problem shouldn't be with the quality of the water. And I'm having trouble getting through to Delta customer service right now as the 800-345-3358 number is not working either. Very dissappointed in the quality of this product even with the lifetime warranty because I have to change the cartridge every year. And, according to the other reviews I've read on the Delta website, a number of other people are having the same problem. The older style product with replaceable rubber gaskets was much more reliable and easy to service.

Very Useful Features
I love my Leland Arctic Stainless kitchen faucet & Delta has been wonderful since I purchased it from them through Amazon in 2013. They've sent me many free replacement cartridges over the years, & even the water lines & a different spray head since then b/c I was putting up with something that I didn't realize shouldn't be happening. Evidently, this faucet has evolved since 2013 & I'm currently using a head they sent me that has 2 different types of sprays. It's time for a new cartridge under the handle b/c the spray head drips at times which is what happens when it doesn't dock properly as it's done so well in the past. Delta has evidently improved this cartridge also b/c it seems to have lasted much longer than in the past.

Number one quality sink valve cartridge
This valve cartridge is will designed, easy to replace when it starts getting old and starts dripping. And warranted for life by Delta! Be sure to register your purchase so Delta can replace it if or when it starts leaking. Delta has a wonderful warranty and quick replacement of any of their products!

Q&A
Is this the proper cartridge for the 9178-AR-DST faucet? If so, how long is this part under warranty. Our 9178-AR-DST faucet has been difficult to turn off for at least a year and it is an economic question whether to buy a different faucet.

I have a leaking bathroom faucet. It is a Delta center set faucet with single handle and appears to be in the 520 Classic family. Is this the correct replacement valve Delta® Cartridge - DIAMOND™ Valve - 1H Model#: RP50587

This replacement cartridge is used by some DST faucets including model 520-DST. It is not used by non-DST faucets such as 520-MPU.

can hot and cold be switched

The cartridge has an H for hot so it cannot be switched. However, the supply lines can be switched but the rotation in the handle and the red and blue indicator may be opposite from the actual temperature.

Does this cartridge fit a kitchen faucet like model 955-SS-DST, but likely installed in 1994?
Thank you for your question, Webtex! The RP50587 cartridge is only compatible with single handle faucets manufactured after 2009. Model 955-SS-DST does take the RP50587 cartridge, however this faucet was not manufactured until 2009. The Victorian collection was not introduced until 2001.

It uses RP4993 seats and springs, RP61 cam, and RP70 ball.

after replacing RP50587 cartridge now have significantly lower water flow/pressure. Is this a known problem?

To flush the unit, we recommend the following:
Start with the easy stuff:
Remove your aerator, wand or hose to check the flow through the unit without that part installed.
If the flow is good, the piece you’ve removed is where the issue is.
Soaking the part in a 50/50 mixture of white vinegar and water could help remove any particles or debris blocking the flow.
If the water does not have a good flow, the problem could be in the faucet.
Next, check the supply lines for debris:
Turn the supply off to both the hot and cold-water lines.
Once off, turn the handle on the faucet to the on position and leave it there to bleed the lines of any excess water.
Next, disconnect the hot water supply line and place it inside a bucket.
Once the line is securely positioned into the bucket, turn on the cold-water supply.

I just had the faucet installed (linden single handle pullout faucet 16932-50DTS on 12/ 19/ 2023. It leaked from the beginning but has worsened progressively an must be fixed. The part RP-50587 needs to be replaced per my plumber.
