what do you use to remove the button over the set screw it could be mine is just calcified but is there a tool or can i pry away with a paper clip I'm always afraid to hulk out on something this small and have it break off

The Delta T17053-SS in brilliance stainless that we received is missing the button and screw set, the set in the same finish at Build with Ferguson is on back ordered until mid June. Does it really matter the finish of the screw and button?
