Rated 3 out of 5 by from Bad design, costing Delta $$ for rework The four plastic tabs that hold the sleeve (RP51481) attached will break easily and cannot be ordered separately. I appreciate the free replacement of the entire sleeve, but this is a known issue (see other reviews) and Delta is wasting money through warranty when it should have been designed better up-front. That money of course gets rolled into the price we pay for future products.

There is a piece of black plastic in this assembly with four tabs which hold the trim piece snug to the counter, These break easily. The plastic piece cannot be replaced without buying the entire expensive metal trim. Bad design and predatory pricing. Cost over $50 to replace a 10 cent plastic piece.

Looks like my request isn't the first for the 4 prong black retaining clip that fits inside of the RP51481, but I am hoping that there is now a product available without me needing to spend almost $70 for what appears to be about a $2 dollar part?

Should there be a washer installed underneath the sleeve? I just replaced mine and it is not sitting flush on the sink in my kitchen.

does this piece come with the lock nut assembly on the bottom or not? Everything else works fine but the locking nut under the cabinet has corroded and does not hold allowing the assembly to move when engaging the handle to turn the water on and off.

question concerning the Sleeve Assembly RP51481 for delta faucet cartridge replacement installation. There is a plastic inside to hold down the assembly. It has for clips and I broke one. Can you just by the plastic screw with tabs?

How do you remove the valve sleeve assembly so I can install a new cartridge and bonnet? Do I have to remove the mounting bolt? If yes, do I need silicone when I reattach?The faucet is 978-RB-DST in which the Valve assembly is separate from the spout.
