I assme this bonnet unit is all one piece and comes off by using a crescent wrench to remove it to replace the value assembly. Is that correct?

The RP51503 bonnet nut can be tightened or removed with any adjustable wrench, however it should only be hand tightened and then a half to a full turn past to ensure that it can be easily removed for repairs later. Is it possible a Delta Grant Single-Handle Pull-Out Sprayer Kitchen Faucet does not use a Bonnet Nut w/ Valve Seal? When I changed the cartridge Mine only had the chrome finished bonnet cap.

The bonnet I received has the v ring assembled with the v ring facing down. Large diameter of v ring is at top of bonnet. Is this the correct way?

I have a VERY old Delta single handle faucet, I have lived in the house for thirty years and it was here when I moved in. I assume it could be 40-50 years old. Will this fit older faucets?

Hi RonG, Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet RP51503. This bonnet nut is used with an RP50587 Diamond Seal cartridge introduced in 2008. Older single-handle kitchen faucets would use a ball assembly with rubber seats. I recommend the RP3614 repair kit for this series of faucets to replace rubber parts that may have worn. I’m trying to replace the cartridge on my sink faucet but the bonnet nut is completely frozen. I’ve tried crescent, monkey and a strap wrench. Any ideas on how I can loosen it without breaking the entire thing.

Hi Billy461, Thanks so much for contacting Delta Faucet Company! Yes, we recommend soaking a towel or washcloth in a solution of 50% white vinegar and 50% water solution. Wrap the soaked towel around the bonnet to loosen any hard water or corrosion that may be keeping the bonnet tightened. Once loose, use a strap wrench or adjustable wrench to unscrew the bonnet nut counterclockwise to remove it. Please reach out with further questions! I am trying to remove the set screw on the handle, but it is frozen. What can I do to get it unfrozen?

If the Delta Faucet Bonnet Nut W/ Valve Seal MODEL#: RP51503 is too tight we would recommend soaking a rag in 50/50 white vinegar and water then wrap it around the bonnet nut and let it sit for 30-45 min.
