Installed all parts of diverter assembly, located directly over and in line with faucet. The faucet/trim works/looks great! Diverter trim is proud of the wall by~1/4" and handle does not connect with cartridge - is there a shorter trim sleeve or other fix

Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet RP51917PCPR.
If you are installing an R11000 diverter rough, the front of the bonnet nut should be just behind the finished wall. Unfortunately, we don't make parts to make it shorter if the valve was installed too far forward.
RP75137 can add an extra inch if the valve was installed too far back.
