3-Setting Diverter Cartridge allows multiple features to be selected, when used with the Delta® diverter rough plumbed for two features. Nothing wrong with the products, the plumbers doing mistake. Capping wrong extra. Function, they have to cap the right one. And usually they cap the left one

3 way diverter does not work on handheld
Recently remodel3d our shower and have gone through 2 divert ours and still doesn’t work. After looking at directions multiple times it looks like the handheld component has to be plumbed on,6 to left and not right. Is this correct? It doesn’t make sense.

Defective 3 way valve
Same issue- position 1 flows water to the tub spout- position 2 equally distributes water to the tub spout and shower head ( thats not right )- position 3 should divert water to the hand held units, but does not. Pulled the valve, the internal positions are working how it’s clocked- bought a second valve today, clocked the same way, super frustrating!

Poor internal component
I had a New R22000 Valve installed and used the T27 859-SS Trim with a Shower Head and Handheld feature. When we turned the water on the Shower Head worked great, When we attempted to divert the water to Mix both components worked and we were not able to make any changes from that point. I called and was sent another Cartridge (RP51918) . The exact problem occurred and I am being sent another. Upon “YouTube” research there are other users having the same issues. Perhaps Moen would have been a better choice…..

How to identify 3 function from 6 function?
How do I identify the 3 function diverter cartridge from the 6 function unit just by looking at it?
Thank you for your question. If you take a look at the bottom of each of the cartridges, there is a difference.
Delta Faucet model # RP51918, the 3-function diverter is white on the bottom.
Delta Faucet model # RP51919, the 6-function diverter is gray on the bottom.

We installed the valve body with the shower port to the top and the handheld port to the left. Can the diverter it self be changed to discharge to the right discharge port in the valve body which now discharges to the right.
Thank you for your question, Jimbo. With a 3-setting diverter, the top and left port must be used and the right-side port should be capped off. To allow water to go to the right port, you can install a 6-setting diverter cartridge, RP51919.

is it possible the ports open to the wrong side? If so, can i change it?

Thank you for your question. The Delta RP51918 3 setting diverter cartridge will open for the top and left ports. If the right port was used and top or left port was plugged on the diverter valve, we recommend to either replumb the plumbing lines, or purchase the RP51919 diverter cartridge with 6 settings. This will give blank settings, but all three settings will turn on.

I have R11000 rough-in and RP51918 cartridge but do not have the plastic sleeve that holds the three way cartridge in the rough-in with the 2 inch nut. How do I get this plastic sleeve and o-rings?

Is 3-Port Diverter type ( RP51918) can divert the water to three diffident fixtures
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # RP51918 is a cartridge for a 3-setting 2-port diverter. It can only be used to add one other feature to your tub and shower.
We do offer a 6-setting 3-port diverter cartridge that will allow you to add 2 extra features to your tub and shower but you will only be able to use 2 of the 3 features at a time. You will not be able to run all three at the same time. The model number for this cartridge is RP51919.

The bonnet holding the 3-function diverter valve to the rough-in body appears to be a large, threaded hexagonal ring. What size is it and is there a tool to remove it?

Thank you for your question. The bonnet nut for the diverter trim measures 2.125" in diameter. We do not offer a wrench to fit this nut however a strap wrench should work.

I bought items t24867 and part r22000. I want the shower head and the handheld to run at the same time but they dont, Is it because I need a sharable cartridge? will the diverter part number rp51918 work?

We recommend to check the plumbing to make sure that the left and top ports were used instead of the right port. The right port must be plugged. How does the plastic bonnet remove from the diverter rough fixture? I removed the nut but cannot get the bonnet removed. does it screw out or pull out. I did not want to get too aggressive with it and break anything.

We capped the 9 hole and our diverter will only work on the 3 and 12 hole at the same time, but won’t close the 3 hole when needed only to use 12. Did we receive the wrong diverter with our delta. How should we set it?

Thank you for your inquiry! When installing the 3-Setting diverter function trim, the right port of the diverter valve would need to be capped off, per installation directions and valve tag. If you are unable to uncap the left port, you would need to install the 6-Setting diverter cartridge RP61919.

Not a question, but wanted to share my experience trying to get the diverter to work correctly. You can not hand tighten the bonnet, you must use a wrench or channel locks to seat the seals to the body of the valve. Hand tightening does not work.
I bought, and installed the Modern 1-Spray Raincan Wall Mount Fixed and Handheld Shower Head 1.75 GPM in Matte Black in conjunction with a bathtub.Will this item work to be able to use all 3 products? If not, which will work?

Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet diverter cartridge RP51918. This has 2 individual positions and 1 shared position for two shower features. A similar cartridge for three shower features is RP51919. We don't recommend connecting a tub spout to a shower outlet. It can work, but the flow rate would be reduced.
A typical installation is an R10000 mixing valve and a diverter valve R11000. The shower head and hand shower are connected to the diverter valve, and a diverter tub spout is connected directly to the R10000 mixing valve.

I have the T27899-SS-PR, and the diverter valve works fine on one setting but the other two don't work properly. The mix valve isn't balanced and the third setting is still mixed. How do I get a replacement?
Do I need to buy RP51916 in order to install T11867-BL? If so; It says RP51916 is chrome, but it doesn't look like any of it will show and it looks like grey plastic. Does any of the chrome show? Why isn't there an instruction sheet?

The model T11867-BL ARA® 3-Setting 2-Port Diverter Trim includes the RP51918 diverter cartridge and the RP51916 sleeve. These are internal parts.

I have the R22000 with integrated 3 function diverter. I capped the wrong side of the diverter so there’s no water supply to handle. Can I solve this problem without opening up the wall?

The 3-setting diverter allows three components separately and has other options to share two components at the same time. Please note that some states have water restriction laws and will not allow this option.

If the wrong side of the diverter valve is capped, a six-setting diverter can be used RP51919. Some settings will be dead spots, but it will have settings for all of the diverter outlets.

I need to know which side of the ceramic disk goes into the diverter first. The smooth side or the side with raised rings. It is not sealing completely when changing stops.

We recently remodeled our shower and have a Brizo rain shower head and also handheld feature mounted to right side of the handle. We have 3-function divertor RP51918. Rain shower works but not able to get handheld work.Does handheld have to be on left

For a 3-function shower diverter, the right side diverter outlet should be plugged and the top and left outlets for the showerhead and hand shower.
If the left side was plugged, a 6-Setting diverter cartridge RP51919 can be used instead of the 3-Setting cartridge. It will have settings for all three outlets, but there will be some settings that are not used.

The Delta RP51918 Diverter Cartridge can be removed without damaging your tile.
This can be done by removing the set screw in the handle using an allen wrench. Then unscrew the bonnet nut and the trim plate will come off and you may then remove the cartridge.

Will this cartridge fit an 11000 valve installed in 2004? The existing one has plastic parts and has failed twice.
Ok so i messed up when installing the valve. I used the top right hand side for my hald held. The diverter says it only works on the top left. Is there a right handed side valve instead of the left
