Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great customer service Delta-RP5649 Exactly what we needed to fix our shower.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from A Ripoff *For Some... Here's Why You make an almost all-metal part, with a plastic tip. That's fine. But the plastic tongue on the end, inevitable breaks. So why wouldn't Delta make individual plastic tongues to buy, so you don't have to buy an all-new, otherwise perfectly functioning diverter? If the whole part fails, okay, fine. But no plastic end piece for sale? This is the same thing for many plumbing parts. Same with the off brand Danco. $14-35, when you should be able to buy a plastic end for .50¢. Heck, sell people a box of 5 for $5. It would appear it's all about profit and not making solutions that are best for the Customer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from fixed my shower This is the genuine Delta replacement. It does work much better than the knock off Danco sold at big box stores. The flapper part is back and more pliable. Definitely worth a bit more money and the installation is the same.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful experience. Genuine Delta part, not an after market look-alike. Service was excellent. Employee was helpful and courteous. Fast delivery. From placing my order until it was installed, only 3 days elapsed. Very clear installation instructions, even this 74 year old woman got it done without a hitch.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Diverter I ordered the shower diverter, and it came very quickly. It was made of metal, not plastic, and was a good fit. I really like the instructions, that were clear and easy to read. I have never replaced one of these, but I followed the instructions and it went smooth.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from quick-n-easy I took me longer to find my tools than it did to change the part. Showering is now a joy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wish i'd ordered sooner!!!!!!! I was looking for a replacement diverter valve for a twenty-six plus year old delta shower unit. Well, i found this site, scrolled through all the shower units and still didn't find the one we have(it came over on the ark), so after a few weeks of procrastinating, i ordered this valve. It was shipped really fast, i installed it(which was as easy as taking out three screws and one nut) and wouldn't you know it, i fixed my shower!!

Do you have a diagram or video showing the correct alignment?

Asked by: MsFixIt
Hi Ms FixIt, Thank you for your question. The diverter does not require a specific alignment as the seal/button can rotate within the threaded piece. Best regards, Jon

What trim model of faucet did this part work with and what would be a trim kit part #

Asked by: plumber8
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # RP5649 is a push button diverter for any of our tub and shower faucets that have the diverter on the escutcheon plate instead of in the tub spout.

how do you remove the push button diverter assembly and install a new one? what tools are needed?

water is shooting out of the push button diverter and I can no longer switch between running a shower or a bath. it is permanently stuck on shower.
Asked by: shaun
Hi Shaun, Thank you for your question. The RP5649 push button diverter unscrews in a counter-clockwise direction. An adjustable wrench that can go up to a 7/8" opening can be used to unscrew the diverter. Thanks, Dave

I purchased a T2705 to replace old trim (was not Delta) and I understand I need R2707 valve set for this model. Is there any way to hook up a pushbutton shower diverter to this T2705 trim? If so, can you tell me what is needed underneath to hook hoses?

Asked by: lel camp
Hello, Thank you for your question! A push button diverter can not be utilized on a roman tub trim kit. If you are going to install a hand shower for use with the trim kit you will either install an R4707 rough-in valve with a new trim kit that includes a hand shower or add an RP16932 transfer valve to your existing R2707 valve. https://www.deltafaucet.com/parts/product/R4707.html https://www.deltafaucet.com/parts/product/RP18632.html Please reach out with further questions! Can you tell me what size of shower valve socket wrench is required to install this piece? thanks.

Asked by: Jim
I couldn't get an adjustable wrench through the hole in the wall to grip the part. I bought a 22mm socket for a 1/2 inch drive. The hole in that socket is big enough to slip over the pushbutton and grip the head on the part. I then used a vice-grip pliers to turn the socket and get the old one out and the new one in.

If needed, the diverter can be capped with RP2865 and a diverter tub spout used instead.
