Rated 2 out of 5 by from Matte Black finish peeled off The drain assembly has not held up. Like another customer, our matte black coating peeled off revealing the brass base less than 3 years after install. We will try another brand for replacement.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from tailpiece outside diameter smaller than standard the tailpiece is less than 1 1/4 inch. Closer to 1 1/8 inch. Which means that the standard gasket through which the tailpiece protrudes, which is made to fit over an 1 1/4 OD tailpiece, has a gap which admits draining water. I noticed this when foaming soap was used for hand washing. Bubbles flowed right up around the tailpiece. Solution: Delta could provide a gasket with an 1 1/8 inch through-hole to slip over the tailpiece. Note: the 1 1/8 inch gasket I referenced above is NOT a standard size. At least one plumbing supply house I contacted does not carry a gasket of that size (it makes up into an 1 1/2 p-trap with a coupling nut) further note: the p-trap is PVC. Standard 1 1/2, nothing fancy. Was working fine with the old chrome 1 1/4 inch tailpiece coming off a Delta drain assembly. Reality solution: old standby plumber's putty.

Q&A

Is there a gasket or seal under the stopper flange? I have a leak between the flange and the bottom of the sink. Instructions call for a silicone bead

Asked by: scoop
Hi scoop, Thank you for your question. We do recommend to use silicone under the flange. Unfortunately, we do not provide a gasket to go between the flange and sink. Please be sure to allow the silicone to fully cure (usually 24 hrs) before running water from the faucet. However, the included gasket should seal against the under side of the sink. If the sink is rough or uneven, you may need to use a thin bead of silicone. Please not that this pop up will only work with sinks with a depth of 1 5/8 - 2 3/8". Best regards, Jon

Can you order the rod for the drain lift?

The end of it rusted off .Tried a short one and its a problem
Asked by: rusty
Hi Rusty, Thank you for your question. The lift rod that will work with the RP62472 drain assembly is the RP6146. If you need the horizontal rod then RP12517 should work. Thanks, Dave

Asked by: Temo
Hi Temo, Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, we do not manufacture a longer horizontal rod for the RP62472 Plastic Pop-Up assembly. However, we do manufacture a Metal Pop-Up assembly and Push Pop-Up assembly. We also do have longer horizontal rod options for the metal pop-up assembly. https://www.deltafaucet.com/parts-product-detail?modelNumber=RP26533 https://www.deltafaucet.com/parts-product-detail?modelNumber=72173 Best regards, Tanya

How does the drain do with well water and water softener? Will it break down in color and corrode?

Asked by: Vbaza
Hi, Thank you for contacting us. We apologize for any inconvenience with your Delta Faucet Company product. I am also more than happy to have this opportunity to help you. We recommend using a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water to use for cleaning. This will help dissolve mineral buildup, depending on calcium and mineral deposits in the well water. Please contact us back if you have any further questions or if you need further assistance you may call us at 1-800-345-3358. We are open Monday through Friday 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM central time, and 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Saturday. Thank you for your cooperation. Best Regards, Bethany

Hello, I only need the top flange (oil rubbed colored) piece of the drain assembly. Is there a way to get only that piece and not the whole assembly?

Asked by: Jeff
Hi, Jeff. Thank you for your question. The top flange part on the Delta RP62472OB Pop Up Drain assembly is not available on it's own. If the individual part is needed, the whole RP62472OB drain assembly would need to be replaced. Best Regards, Rosanna
