Have to order valve how do you determine hot or cold?

This looks like the part I need. Except there is a silver screw that is in the gold end that the screw to put the handle hits. What is this silver screw?  Is that something I’m suppose to purchase separately from somewhere?

My faucet part has two rubber o-rings where the quick connect attaches. This photo only shows one. Is this the same part?
