Rated 5 out of 5 by from Parts for Delta Faucet This plus the RP4993 seals fixed the leaking problem. Seals from the local big box home improvement store did not. Evidently it pays to get actual parts from the manufacturer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great part Through no fault of Delta, the hard water here was stuck to the old ball assembly & also tore up the original valve seats

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Didn't help Leaky faucet, changed the RP70 ball and the RP4993 springs/seats, and it still leaks just as bad. There's nothing else to change!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wrong Item! This was the second of two attempts to find a replacement part for a Delta faucet, specifically the ball assembly. Unfortunately the Delta folks have modified their parts on the Delta faucet but haven't changed the number of the faucet. The 2005 version of the faucet I purchased is not the same interior parts of the current model. It would have been so much easier for Delta to change the number of the faucet - even with some added letters after the 203 or whatever. So I gave up!

Is there more than one type of ball used in Delta single handle kitchen faucets? I have 400 with sprayer, installed in 1990's. Most recently put in kit with #70 ball, now won't quite shut off all the way. Old ball had extra hole not in #70.

Asked by: Dennis49
Hello Dennis, Thank you for your inquiry! Yes, the ball assembly RP70 was the only ball manufactured for our older Delta single handle kitchen faucets. If your faucet is leaking, you would need to replace the RP4993 seats/springs. https://media.deltafaucet.com/PartsDiagram/100_400_70701__Rev_B.pdf Best regards, Tanya

I have a model 476 waterfall pull out kitchen faucet that is leaking under the handle as well as dripping. It is about 10 years old.

Would replacing the ball assembly fix both problems?
Asked by: Don
Hi Don, Thank you for your question. You should not have to replace the ball assembly, only make sure that it is clean and free from debris. The parts you will want to replace are the RP61 cam assermbly to stop the leak under the handle and the RP4993 seats and springs to stop the dripping. Thanks, Dave

I have a single handle kitchen faucet model A112 18 1M.  Please advise as to which ball assembly is required for repair.  RP70, RP212, or something else?  Many thanks.

Asked by: Richard
Hi, Richard! Thank you for your question. If your kitchen faucet has a metal lever handle, you will want to use an RP70 ball assembly. If your faucet has a plastic knob (ball-type) handle, we recommend to use RP212 ball assembly. Best Regards, Rosanna

will this come in a kit with the washers, or do you have to order them separate

Asked by: Chris
Thank you for your question, Chris! The RP70 Ball Assembly is not included in a kit as it typically does not need replaced. The RP4993 seats and springs as well as the cam and packing/o-rings can be ordered together in the RP3614 repair kit. https://www.deltafaucet.com/parts-product-detail?modelNumber=RP3614 Best regards, Edward

I have a Delta shower faucet which came with the house ( built in 1991-92). (Apparently Delta series 600). It does not control the water temp very well. What needs to be replaced to get it working normally. ? Is there a cartridge or ?, Part # ?

Asked by: Gopal
Hi Gopal, Thank you for your inquiry! The Delta 600 series faucets are not designed with cartridge assembly, it has a ball assembly. The internal parts are seats and springs, ball assembly and cam and packing. None of these parts controls the temperature. Best regards, Tanya

Entire cartridge or just the ball valve?

The instructions that came with the Cicero kitchen faucet (Model 468-SD-DST) indicate that to fix a leak from the faucet I need to replace the valve cartridge (part # 3 in the diagram). This site says to replace only the ball valve. Which is correct?
Asked by: pamelalaroche
Hi pamelalaroche, Thank you for your question! The 468-SD-DST (manufactured after September 2008) will take the RP50587 cartridge assembly. http://www.deltafaucet.com/repairparts/details/rp50587.html The 468-SD (non-DST) uses an RP70 ball. However, the RP4993 seats and springs and the RP61 cam assembly will resolve most leaks. http://www.deltafaucet.com/repairparts/details/rp4993.html http://www.deltafaucet.com/repairparts/details/rp61.html Best regards, Jon

I have a Saxony Single Handle Pull-out Kitchen Faucet w/soap dispenser Model 473-RBSD.

The handle comes completely off from the ball assembly, was it made that way or is it broken. The faucet also leaks water onto the counter top and drips quite a bit. I read another users answer concerning the leaking and drips, but I want to know if the handle should come completely off the faucet??
Asked by: Connie
Hi Connie, Thank you for your question. The handle on the 473-RBSD is held on by a set screw that should meet the flat portion on the stem of the ball ssembly. When installed correctly the handle should not be coming off. Replacing the RP4993 seats and springs and the RP32520 o-rings on your faucet should help stop the leaks on your faucet. Here is a link to the parts diagram for your model to help with the repair. http://www.deltafaucet.com/customersupport/documentation/473-rbsd.html?document=pd&documentIndex=0#flashWrapper Thanks, Dave

After replacing springs and seals noticed handle had to be moved to a "sweet spot" to shut water off. Question, could I have installed ball 180 degrees out causing problem?

Asked by: matt60
Hi matt60! Thank you for your question. The rp70 Delta ball assembly should only fit into the valve body of the faucet one way. There is a pin in the valve body of the faucet that lines up with a hole on the rp70 ball. Thanks, Antoine

I have model 467 Palo kitchen faucet. I have removed the set screw to the handle, but cannot remove the lever. What do I do next?

I watched the video, and it seems the handle should come right off, but it does not. Is there some other step I need to take?
Asked by: Bob
Hi Bob, Thank you for your question. It is possilbe that you have mineral deposits built up underneath your faucet handle. We recommend soaking a towel in a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and cold water. Then wrap the towel around the handle and soak overnight to allow the mixture to loosen the deposits. You should be able to lift the handle off after removing the set screw. Thanks. Jody

what position does the ball assembly go in when placed over teh valves? there are two small holes, one bigger one, and one slit off to the side.

Asked by: erin
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # RP70 does have a slit in the side of it that will match up to a line sticking out into the valve. The slit will slide down the line to be put in the correct position for operation.

I have the single handle shower faucet with ball control. Can I change this system to the one that use cartrige?

Asked by: pam
Hi Pam, Thank you for your question! By your description it sounds like you have a 600 series. We only manufacture a renovation kit RP54870 for your unit. The kit come in Chrome, Brilliance Stainless Steel or Venetian Bronze. There is no cartridge or cartridge trim kit that would fit into your valve body. You would have to replace the valve and plumbing in your wall to switch. Best regards, Brandis

WILL THE RP70 AND RP4993 WORK IN A 1970,s SINGLE LEVER SHOWER CONTROL. THE LEVER MOVES LEFT RIGHT, UP DOWN.

Asked by: E1012
Hi E1012, Thank you for your question. The RP70 ball assembly and RP4993 seats and springs should work in an older 600 series lever handle tub/shower faucet. If the faucet has the acrylic knob handle you will want to use the RP212 ball assembly instead of the RP70. Thanks, Dave

Hello, I have question about delta tub faucets

We here at the hotel have delta 600 series tub faucets I believe installed around 1990. They have a acrylic crystal ball. If i want to the change from acrylic handle to a single metal lever handle(RP2393), Would I be able to use the RP70 Ball for the metal lever RP2393 ? The RP70 ball fits in the metal lever. The original ball that is in the acrylic crystal handle has a different type of ball. Can I try using the RP70 ball with the Single Metal lever RP2393 in my current faucet? The conversion ball is very expensive to put in 70 rooms, so I wanted to see if there was a way around this by using RP70 ball.
Asked by: david
Hi David, Thank you for your question. You cannot transition from the acrylic knob handle to the lever handle on a 600 series faucet by using the RP70 ball assembly. The RP20111 conversion ball would have to be used. Thanks, Dave

how to replace rp70 ball

Asked by: bobc
Hi bobc, Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet RP70. The specifics may change if this is used in a sink faucet or shower. Generally, turn off the water supplies and remove the handle. Next, unscrew the cap and remove the cam assembly. The ball can then be removed. Check the condition of the RP4993 seats and springs below the valve as they may wear over time. Install the new valve, with the tab on the faucet fitting into the slot on the ball. Please contact us directly if you have any additional questions!
