How the heck do you get this knob off? I need to adjust the temperature and the subcontractor who installed the valve isn't available to ask or correct the problem. I tried pulling it off but I'm afraid if I pull any harder it will break.

Thank you for your question. The temperature cover pulls straight off. Once the temperature cover is off, you can then unscrew the Phillips screw and remove the temperature knob. You will then be able to get to the rotational limit stop to adjust the temperature. Here is a how-to video for this:

Hi, I had already watched the video. These parts don't exactly match the ones in the video. I finally got the knob/handle off by prying the slot behind the knob under the place where the handle comes out. There's a catch there.

Does the temperature dial include the plastic piece that attaches the temp dial to the handle?

How do you install the cover on RP73642?
I expected the cover to snap in but it isn't doing it easily and I am afraid to force it since it is plastic. I am sure I have it properly aligned since one side is wider than the other! HELP, what is the trick?
Hi Steve, Thank you for your question. To install the RP73642 temperature knob cover you will want to align the portion of the handle that has the lever into place on the temperature knob and then push down and snap the rounded portion into place.

How can you remove the temperature control knob. Mine is about 2 years old and the knob is loose, and I want to remove it to see what the problem may be.
Thank you for your question, John! The RP73642 Temperature Knob Cover can be pried off the Temperature Knob by applying light pressure on the back or opposite side of the lever. The Phillips head screw that holds this on to the cartridge stem most likely needs tightened however we do not recommend over-tightening this as it will affect the movement of the Temperature Knob.
