Rated 5 out of 5 by from Delta shower faucet cartridge Delta shower faucet cartridge was exact fit. Good price, fast ship.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not very durable The valve surfaces may be ceramic, but the rest of the internals are brittle plastic. So when the stop on the valve gets broken like this, the entire cartridge has to be chucked in the bin. This unit is not that old, and now is junk.

My Delta Monitor Shower/Tub faucet is leaking. I live in a Condo that was built in 2005. Faucet has the Lever to turn on/off. As you turn faucet Lever counter clockwise the hotter the water gets.

I can not get the washers on the hot/cold stems to fit into their respective opening. Lubricant and muscle power are not working. They seem to big for the aperture for the hot/cold outlet inside the sleeve.

I am installing an R10000-UNBXHF shower valve body - is the RP74236 (ceramic) compatible with this? In one FAQ Delta's response was "No", but in another it was recommended as well as the RP46074!? Which is it? Are both pressure balancing? Pros of ceramic?

Asked by: Rich
Hello Rich, Thank you for contacting us! I am happy to help you. Thank you for bringing this to our attention! We will be working to get the correct information on the website. The Delta RP74236 is the ceramic cartridge for the 13/14 Series shower unit and is typically used in a commercial setting. RP46074 is the non-ceramic cartridge for the 13/14 Series shower unit. Yes, both of these cartridges are Pressure Balancing. Please contact us if you have any questions or need further assistance. Best Regards, Emma

How to replace part

Asked by: Robert
Hi Robert, Please refer to the instructions below to change your 1400 series cartridge. Please shut off the water supplies, grab a towel, an 1/8" inch allen wrench (for a lever handle) or philips screwdriver (for a knob handle), and a strap wrench. 1. Shut off the water supply, turn the handle on to remove excess water, and remove the handle with the allen wrench or philips screwdriver. 2. Slide off the sleeve assembly to reveal the bonnet and the valve. 3. Using the strap wrench, please remove the bonnet nut. 4. Pull the cartridge out of the valve, and slightly wiggle if needed. 5. We recommend flushing the valve before installing a new cartridge. 6. Please shut the shower door or curtain and turn the hot and cold water supplies on for about 2 minutes. 7. Once you flush the valve, you can install the new cartridge, bonnet nut, sleeve, and handle. Please note, you will need to adjust the rotational limit stop for your temperature preference. To adjust your rotational limit stop, refer to page 9 in the link below. https://media.deltafaucet.com/MandI/68881%20Rev%20M.pdf We appreciate your inquiry. My shower was remodeled & they installed a delta T17238-CZ now pressure coming out of the hand wand that I reinstalled from the old shower is very low, before the delta was installed I had plenty of pressure. Do you have a cartridge with higher flow?

Asked by: David
Hi David, Thanks so much for contacting Delta Faucet Company! It is possible that flushing the product could resolve this issue. To do this, turn off the water supplies, remove the cartridge, and turn the supplies back on for one minute. Please make sure that you are getting good flow through both the hot and cold sides while flushing. You can also shake the cartridge back and forth to make sure the back half of the cartridge rattles. This means that the pressure-balancing spool is moving freely, as it should. If you would like installation help, you may contact our residential warranty line directly at 800-345-3358 (prompt 2, then 4). We are available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.
