how do I remove the cover/temperature control handle as shown in photo R P 77164?

The Delta Faucet part RP77164 Temperature Knob & Cover - 17 Series can be removed by feeling for the tab at the back of the knob and pulling the backside off from the cover below. Once the back has been popped off, the front tab will be released to allow the knob to come off completely.

I have part number RP77164. How do I attach the cover? There is no screw. The problem is that it falls off when in use. I have two showers both with this ‘push on’ cover.

First, hook the front of the temperature control cover onto the knob before engaging the rear snap.

The temperature cover on my new faucet is wiggly and loose. Does it need to be replaced or is there a trick to fixing this issue?

MODEL#: RP77164BL can be tightened for a more secure connection from underneath the cover. I have included the maintenance and installation instructions below for the main trim kit, please see page 10.

How do you remove this handle?

The temperature knob simply pulls off with pressure, there is no set screw which attaches it.

So The Delta Faucet part RP77164 comes with the handle and the black plastic rotational adjustment I only need the rotational adjustment and not the cover. My plumber was trying to get more hot water out of the mixing valve and cracked the plastic piece
