Power your touch-activated faucet with the Delta RP78389 Replacement Battery Box. As a genuine Delta part, this battery box is specifically designed to work with third-generation solenoids for a perfect fit.
This durable and high-quality unit is built for long-term use, ensuring reliable performance for your Delta faucet. It holds six AA batteries (sold separately) and has compact dimensions of 10-3/4" L x 7-1/2" W x 1-1/2" H.
Important Note: The lid for this battery box is not sold separately. If the lid is lost or damaged, the complete Delta EP92546 Solenoid Assembly must be purchased as a replacement.

Delta obviously did zero long-term testing
It feels like piling on at this point, given all the other reviews, but if you buy this facuet you WILL eventually become the master of taping/sealing it back together in order to get it to stay shut. It feels trashy for such a modern and expensive faucet to have such a glaring failure mode. If you haven't purchased one yet, please find another solution with a more robust looking battery box. Also such a terrible design that if the top piece ever breaks you need to replace the entire solenoid for hundreds more dollars...

Obvious design flaw
Putting six batteries together under spring tension and then "securing" it with a flimsy two-point snap connection is an obvious design flaw. Every time I have to replace the batteries I spend a couple days resetting it just right. Even then, from time to time I have to find the batteries that have flown out when the snap connections fail. As others have said, it takes something extra to secure the pack so it won't come open and necessitate crawling under the sink. Would not recommend this for older customers who don't want to get down on their hands and knees at inconvenient times.
I came to this site to find what I thought would be a better product to fix this glaring problem. It would seem easy to have a battery holder that is firm on both sides with a cover.
So if you need this, you need it but it won't be much of an improvement.

Terrible design
Who at Delta is listening to the voice of your consumers? It doesn’t seem like Customer Service is relaying the feedback to your product design team. Rather than apologize repeatedly, fix the root issue and stop getting complaints.
For years now, consumers have been complaining about the poor design quality of the battery box, yet no one at Delta has taken the time or effort to have the engineers redesign the box. We’re not asking you to redesign the whole product, just fix the battery box!
As all of the reviews indicate, the box pops apart, the batteries comes loose, the faucet doesn’t work. Fix the closure mechanism so the lid/cover stays securely attached and the faucet then works reliably. I’ve had mine taped shut, but that’s not secure enough, the lid still comes loose and the faucet stops working. I came here thinking “surely they’ve redesigned this junk by now and I can order a replacement that’s better quality”, only to be disappointed to see it’s the same poor quality design as when I bought the faucet 3-4 years ago. So instead of spending my money for a replacement, I’m leaving this review. FIX IT.

Horrible design
Awful product. Install was less than four years ago and the product is failing. The lid won't stay on so of course the faucet won't work when the batteries constantly pop out. You would think as expensive as the faucets are they would make this unit of better quality.

Great faucet but battery box is terrible!
We love our Delta faucet but apparently we are not the only ones having issues with the battery box popping open. Please do not reply with a "we are sorry you're not satisfied...." Instead, maybe redesign the battery box so this issue gets fixed. Platitudes are not the same thing as customer service!

I give the battery box a FAIL rating
I was about to try to buy a replacement battery box for this faucet as mine has frequently popped its top and hence no water at the tap. I laughed when I read all of the reviews that all refer to the same problem. I am very surprised that Delta had not redesigned or chosen a different type of battery box as there are many on the market that do not close in the same way. Delta, this is not a good look for a company I have thought of a good one. My solution, wide and long zip tie. It does the job, I just cut it off once a year and change the batteries and put on a new one. I shouldn't have to do this but I didn't want it to beat me.

Thank you for your question. The Delta RP78389 Battery Pack does not include the cord. The cord that connects the solenoid and the battery box will be on the solenoid assembly, itself.

I seem to have the same problem with my battery pack as many other people. I’ve had this faucet for about 6 years and the past few months the top of the battery pack continues to pop off. I’ve used duct tape and that only lasts for a short time.

I installed my faucet in March and just changed my batteries for the first time a week ago. It is already flashing red to change the batteries. The batteries look a little corroded inside. Will replacing battery pack help?
