How should I remove the small button that covers the screw on the diverter handle? Our handle came off and I can’t get at the screw.

The buttons on our handles can be removed with a fingernail. There is also a slot where you can insert a wooden toothpick to pry out.

I need a replacement lever handle for a MASCO R22000. It look just like this one. Will this part work?
