Do not buy matte black! Finish will flake off.
This hose has seen less than 2 years of use and the black paint finish is flaking off. Once it starts in one spot it gets progressively worse. Unless you expect to replace the hose ever 2 years do not buy. This was surprising considering I have soft water.

Finish failing
We installed a matte black shower hose to match the matte black Delta fixture 2 years ago. After 6 months the black finish started to peel and after each use there are more paint chips in the shower to clean up. We are regretting our matte black selections. I am a design engineer involved in major new construction and renovation projects. I will relay my personal experiences to my clients.

Not an extension hose
This is not an extension for the hose but is the shower hose that comes with the shower head assembly. It is very good quality but it doesn’t stretch as far as it says

This hose is the same length as the original. Supposedly stretchable, but only if you want to rip the shower arm out of the wall
I ordered Delta shower valve Model:T17293-SS-I. It comes with a handheld wand. The wand might be considered 60” if you include the full length of the actual handheld sprayer while attached to the hose. The hose is supposedly stretchable and it may be, but it takes way too much effort when you pull on it than I’m comfortable with. It feels like you’re going to rip the shower arm out of the wall.
My customer had knee surgery and I needs a longer hose. So I called build, spoke with a rep and ordered Delta’s U495D-60-PK. When I installed it it I noticed it says “stretchable” just like the original hose. Again, it takes way too much effort to stretch than i’m comfortable with.
Very disappointed. Hose if probably a good hose if you want the same length as an exact replacement for the original.

Looks Nice but Leaks
The stainless steel finish looks nice, but the hose leaked after only 2+ years of normal use. I know hoses eventually leak and don't last forever, but I would expect that a Delta hose would last at least 5 years before requiring replacement.

Great Customer Service
Installed a 57713 Slide Bar Hand Shower In Stainless ten years ago. It is a summer place so it only had six years of use when the outer casing separated from the hand held part. Called Customer Service, no hassle no problem. The repalcement is on its way.

Flaking Finish

Paint flaking off shower wand hose
I too after spending many of thousands of dollars remodeling our Master Bathroom, we chose Delta Venetian Bronze for all of our fixtures and now in less than 2 years the paint is flaking off our shower wand hose exposing the bright finish underneath. Very disappointed that this did not last longer. Hoping that Delta can make this right and restore our confidence in their product.

Leaks
We renovated our bathroom 2.5 years ago and chose Delta fixtures in chrome. We are on our second hose in 2.5 years, and it began leaking horribly 2 days ago—sprays water all over the shower and above the door. The shower head has leaked (a dripping leak) for months. Very disappointed in the durability of this product.

Delta shower hose
Finished beautiful bathroom last year costing thousands. It now looks cheap because the Delta shower hose paint has flaked off after 1 year off use. Even the Delta name tag quickly fell off the shower handle. For a setup that costs many of hundred dollars I am disappointed.

Flaky hose

Faulty finish
We built a beautiful new home and put in DELTA bathroom shower fixtures. We are surprised and disappointed because the finish is flaking off after only 4 months use! The hose part is the problem. See picture below. Quite a disappointment.

Finish flakes off after a few uses
We paid a premium for the Vero collection shower, but the hand wand hose scratched on the sharp corners of the slide rail. The venetian bronze paint on the hose easily flakes off after a few uses to reveal bright aluminum. Its a real eyesore that's only getting worse with each use. It was supposed to be the center piece of our master bath.

Major leak after seven months of gentle use
I bought this high-priced hose hoping that I'd get a quality product. I was wrong - the hose started leaking after just seven months of gentle use. A total loss. On the plus side, Delta did send me a replacement.

Great Product
You cant go wrong with this hose. It's metal, flexible and quality. Replace the o-rings when they wear out and this should last you forever. Spend the money and buy quality. It will out last those plastic ones 5 to 1.

Not a durable finish
In less than a month the plastic coating is peeling off revealing bright chrome underneath ! The Venitian Bronze color is a plastic coating only ! I will have to buy another brand name hose now . The same product would be prone to peel just like the first one !

I had Model # 57021-SS Premium 3-setting slide bar hand shower installed in my new bathroom shower and would like to know if Delta sells an extension hose that will fit this system to allow me to utilize this at the far end of my shower, which is 5 feet.

Thank you for your question regarding the Delta 60"-80" Hand Shower Hose and I am happy to assist you today.
This hand shower hose (model: U495D-SS60-PK) has 1/2" conical connections which are compatible with all of our hand showers.
This model can stretch from 60-82" or 2083mm. At this time we do not sell an adapter to connect two hoses together, although this is our longest hose that we currently offer besides our 84" UltraFlex hand shower hose (model: U490R-84-PK).
