Hi Sandy, Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet model 538-MPU-DST. Please accept our sincere apology for the inconvenience you are experiencing. We are happy to help! The issue is likely caused by water debris trapped in the cold supply line or the faucet. Flushing should help fix the issue. Turn the supply off to both the hot and cold-water lines. Once off, turn the handle on the faucet to the on position and leave it there to bleed the lines of any excess water. Next, disconnect the cold water supply line and place it inside a bucket. Once the line is securely positioned into the bucket, turn on the hot-water supply. Since the handle was left in the on position, the water will flow up the hot supply line, through the faucet cartridge, and back down the cold water line into the bucket. Leave this flowing for at least 30 seconds. After flushing, reconnect the cold water line and this process can be repeated with the hot water line to ensure all particles have been removed from both supplies. To clean your Delta 538-SSMPU-DST, please refer to the link below: https://www.deltafaucet.com/service-parts/frequently-asked-questions/cleaning-and-care Always blot dry any water from faucet surface. Allowing water to evaporate on the surface can lead to build up of mineral deposits. Cleaning with a damp non-abrasive sponge and buffing it dry with a clean soft cloth should help keep your product looking beautiful. To remove water spots, use warm water and a soft, damp cloth. Hard water stains may be removed using a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water. Make certain that you rinse thoroughly with water afterward. If additional cleaning is required, all of our finishes may be cleaned with the following household cleaners: Formula 409® Antibacterial All Purpose Cleaner, Fantastik® All Purpose Cleaner, or Windex® Original Glass Cleaner, when used according to the manufacturers' instructions for use. Avoid using the following which can damage your finish: Avoid industrial cleaners and abrasive cleaners, such as those used for toilet bowls, green Scotch-Brite heavy duty scrub sponges, Scrubbing Bubbles Bathroom Cleaner and Lysol Basin Tub, Soft Scrub, and Tile Cleaner. Avoid products that state on the label that they remove tarnish and rust, and those containing hydrofluoric, hydrochloric and/or phosphoric acids and caustic agents. Hi, TC381! In most installations, you will first need to remove the horizontal rod to take out the stopper. Simply loosen the nut on the back of the drain, pull out the horizontal rod then lift out the stopper. Best regards, Themar
