Hello Pat D, Thank you for contacting us, I would be happy to help you. We do recommend flushing the valve; It will allow the removal of debris in the lines. Here are the steps for flushing your faucet. Please shut water supplies off before starting this process. You will need Phillip's screwdriver and Start by popping the cap off the front of the handle. Then you would remove your handle with the screwdriver. Please pull the handle off of the cartridge, you will then find the cap and bonnet nut. Both the cap and bonnet nut would be unthreaded from the faucet. The next part you should see is the cartridge, please grab and pull it out. Then using needle nose pillars grab the brass insert and pull it out. Under the insert is the flow restrictor and this is where the blockage would be located, once cleaned follow the directions in reverse for reinstall. Please contact back with any further questions. Thank you for your question Jim B. The 553LF-SS includes the 33W576SS springloaded pop-up. Unfortunately, the stopper is not a replaceable part by itself. If the stopper is needed the drain assembly would need to be replaced. Best regards, Bryan

To access the flow restrictor, first, turn off the water supply and remove the button cover under the handle. Loosen the handle set screw and remove the handle. Remove the cap and unscrew the bonnet nut. Then, the cartridge can be removed to access the flow restrictor, o-ring, and brass insert. A small tool like an o-ring pick may be needed to remove the flow restrictor. Hi Chris, Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet model 553LF-SS. The stream straightener at the end of the spout is not designed to be easily removed. If needed, a replacement stream straightener is available as part number RP76571. We recommend using needle nose pliers to work it out of the spout. Recommended maintenance is to soak the area with 50/50 white vinegar and water if needed for mineral deposits. Clean the flow restrictor behind the handle cartridge if there is an issue with the faucet's flow rate. Please reach out with any additional questions! We recommend removing the supply lines and flushing with water into a bucket. Then, remove the faucet cartridge and flow restrictor to flush water through the faucet valve. Use a bucket to redirect the water that will shoot from the valve. If the issue remains, replace the cartridge RP50265. Hard water stains may be removed using a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water. Make certain that you rinse the surface thoroughly with water afterward.
