What are the main differences between the classic 400 and 500 systems for build other than shelf layout

Some of the differences between our Classic 400 and our Classic 500 are our Classic 500 has more storage space, and an accessory ledge to keep rings, razors, or other items safe from water. We are considering purchasing a Classic 500 48 in. W x 73.25 in. H x 34 in. D 3-Piece Direct-to-Stud Alcove Shower Surround. We are concerned that the seams will be difficult to clean resulting in mold, mildew and soap scum accumulation.

Can you just buy a side panel ?   My husband had one side upside down and drilled the faucet handle hole.  Then when attempting to put it in realized that he had it upside down.   So we have a hole in the right side wall instead of the left.

I am not able to find the base foam strip model # RP103265 specified in the installation pdf for the the Delta Classic 500 surround model # B12205-6032-WH. Please provide the specifications for this foam strip so I can search for a compatible alternative.

I want to install the shower surround over a tiled floor. will I be able to apply a sealant at the base of the walls if we are not using your pan.

We do not recommend installing tile directly to the Classic 500 Shower Base MODEL#: B12135-6032L-WH. There is shower pan flanges on there, the finished wall will go on top of it. Please refer to the maintenance and installation guide for more details.
