Rated 1 out of 5 by from Hate it so much A plumber installed this without my knowledge when he broke my beautiful Koehler set while knocking out tiles in my shower to fix a leak. We all hate it. The water pressure is so much lower than the old set. We are taking longer showers just to get clean. I hate the tiny shower head. When I turn it off, it continues to drip for quite a while, and we have to pull up the diverter every time whereas we didn’t with the old. I have to constantly touch the handle to adjust the temperature because it’s good, then gets either too hot or too cold by itself. I can’t wait for my shower tile to be finished so that I can have a different one put in. I like Delta but not for showers.

Cartridges are readily available, and quality is great across all price points. This is a simple trim kit, and looks great in either a basic or a higher end bathroom. The touch clean shower head is a useful feature for those of us with dissolved minerals in our water.

What material is the trim piece made of for this shower kit.

I'd like to know what material the trim piece is made of that is behind the handle? I would like to install this outside and want to make sure it will not rust or corrode over time. Is it brass? What is the handle made of?

Hi Lor, Thank you for your question. The escutcheon is a non-metallic piece.The handle is metal. We do not test our products for exterior use but in general unless the temperature goes below freezing there shouldn't be any problems. Thanks, Dave

Why is the water flow not adjustable?

My last fixture, and every other sink or bath fixture I have ever had or used always allowed adjustment of the flow of water. (Trickle or medium flow on hot or cold, full blast at each as well.) Was mine installed incorrectly?

Thank you for your question. This model uses a pressure balance cartridge which utilizes equal amounts of hot and cold water. This is intentional so if there is a sudden drop of hot or cold water elsewhere, the shower will remain relatively the same temperature. The T17 series will offer the use of two handles to control temperature and volume separately. If a multichoice valve was installed, then this series can be used instead. Alternatively you can use an adjustable showerhead that allows for different settings. I have the t13420 and I need just the plate that goes around the handle. How can I just get the round plate that goes over the handle? I need it in chrome.

How can I increase the water temperature from the handle?

Hi Paul, Thank you for your question! The temperature increases as you rotate the handle clockwise. If it does not get hot enough, you can increase the hottest setting by adjusting the Rotational Limit Stop. My mom purchased the Classic series tub shower combo for use with her tub-only arrangement. Is there an alternative valve or method to block off the shower outlet on the Multi-Choice valve? We don't want an accident or leaking valve behind the wall.

Does Delta have hand held shower head for the Model T13420 ?

Models 75613 and 75413 for example. I have just installed a 13 series kit in my shower. Unfortunately, the valve does not allow enough hot water to mix with the cold for the temperature to be little more than cold. The hot water supply pipe is hot so there is hot water to the valve.

I have a Delta 1995 shower valve assembly that’s gold that I’d like to replace with polished nickel. I believe the part number I need is. T13420-PN. It has two handles one to turn the water on and the other one for the temp control. I can send photos

Hi Ronald, Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet model T13420-SS. Unfortunately, T13420-PN is not a valid model number. This is not available in polished nickel. A two-handle shower with a separate temperature handle would be a 2300 series. Unfortunately, a current shower trim would not fit the valve. The shower valve may need to be replaced.
