Rated 3 out of 5 by from Jury still out on this one I was so excited to get a faucet with the dual controls for volume and temperature, but am very disappointed by the performance. The water is hot when the volume is all the way up (as with any faucet handle), but when I try to reduce the flow, the temperature also changes to cold (even though the temperature handle remains dialed to hot). This is the same awful functionality I had before with the single control faucet. I want to be able to have low volume for a minute or two without freezing to death! I will say that my very capable plumber really struggled to get this installed because there were no instructions included in the package. Now that I've found the online manual I will show it to him to double check the installation, and will update my review if we find an error. But for now, this product is not living up to its advertisement.

ONE MAJOR PROBLEM: blue to red water temperature indicator became loose and peeled off before it was ever used. I’ve wanted a replacement except I don’t want to have to pay a plumber to remove and reinstall the replacement.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst shower faucet I've had in 60 years I give this 1 star because no stars isn't an option. My 15 year old Delta shower faucet started leaking so had plumber install in a new one. He selected this. His reasoning was you can set the temp and never move it. Reality? No you can't because there is more than one person in the house and even if it was just me, that still doesn't work. The water flow is so restricted (1.7gpm) that if I leave it set it takes several minutes for the shower to reach temp. Turning it to full hot, it still takes close to a minute and my shower is less than 10 feet from the water heater. Next problem is the scald guard. Had to remove it and cut about 1/2 of it off in order for water to get hot enough to satisfy my wife, this after turning the water heater up to 145. The 1.7gpm renders my 2.5gpm shower head virtually useless due to lack of pressure. Lastly, the quality. While the trim ring and main handle are metal, the temp control handle is just a thin metal cap over plastic which makes for very poor fit and finish. We've been using this thing for about a month now and I can already tell the inside that actually hold it to the mechanics will break by the end of the year. Final take, this is a very cheap faucet that will require a complete replacement within a few years. For reference, my house is 32 years old and this i only the 3rd faucet we've had in the shower, replaced in the past due to the parts to service the valve being discontinued.

How to replace valve? Specifically removing the 1st handle. No set screw, so how do I remove it?

Need to reset the temperature stops on T17438-SS but am having trouble removing the handle cap. Manual says it can be pulled by hand straight off. I have used great pressure and hate to use a screwdriver due to possible damage. Am I missing something?

Is this venetian bronze the same as oil rubbed bronze?

When the temperature knob is all the way on cold and I adjust pressure knob and water comes out.. I get luke warm water. This means hot water value is open even with temperature knob all the way cold. Is that right. Is it possible to only get cold water.

I bought the Delta Faucet Lahara 17 Series Dual-Function Shower Handle. It was installed but the lever does not stop rotation around. I can rotate the lever a full 360 around. How can this be stopped  Did I receive a bad cartridge?

If you are planning on installing a tub spout then you will want the R10000-UN valve. Can this drip hot water? Saw review saying they had to turn volume halfway up to get any hot water

The rotational limit stop is used to limit the amount of hot water available such that, if set properly, the user will not be scalded if the handle accidentally is rotated all the way to “hot” when a person is showering or filling a tub. I have a Delta Monitor 1500 shower faucet. I am looking at the T17038 kit and wondering if this trim kit will work with my existing 1500.I know there is an existing brass nut that goes on behind temp control, but don't see nut reused in instructions.

If the escutcheon screws of the 1500 faucet are to the top-right and bottom-left of the handle, like the T17038-RB, the T17038-RB and any current MultiChoice® T17 series trim will work as long as they use the RP32104 cartridge from the 1500 faucet. The brass bonnet nut would be reused for the RP32104 cartridge instead of using the new cartridge included in the trim kit. Please reach out if you have any additional questions! The 132900-A Monitor(R) 13 Series Shower - Complete Rough And Trim include an R10000 MuliChoice valve rough. So yes, you can replace the trim with the Lahara T17038 trim kit without changing the valve rough. T17038-SS. The volume control handle moves up towards the on position at least half way before any water starts coming out of the shower (only uses about 30 deg of travel to control the water volume). This does not seem correct, what might be wrong?

How do you remove the flow control handle to get to the cartridge? There is no set screw on the handle and it will not simply pull off? To be clear, this is the large handle not the temp control knob or the plastic temp. control sensor.

If customer is using T17 trim they must purchase or have a new style RP32104 cartridge and RP22734 bonnet nut. These pieces will come with the RP29405 conversion kit. Existing Delta Monitor 1500 shower faucet. Will use T17038 trim only to change color. Also will keep existing cartridge RP32104 and RP22734 bonnet brass nut. What about existing small nut RP16212 between temp contrl volum contrl handles? Is this reused?

Can I replace a Leyland Monitor 17 Shower Faucet, with a Lahara Faucet, without changing the rough body behind the wall?

Hi Frank, Thanks for your question regarding T17038! In 2006, the universal rough valve was manufactured and would allow for any of our T13/14, T17, and 17T trim kits to fit. However if your shower unit was installed prior to 2006, the trim kit would be model specific and you can only replace the trim with the same series(T13/14, T17, or 17T). Installed T17 shower trim. The pressure handle turns 360°. When at the top, cold water comes out, pointing at the bottom, hot water. The temp control handle doesn't match with red or blue markings and water is luke-warn? Just bought this unit. T17038
