Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice and include the cartridge as well The product works great. The documentation is not clear on the website: the cartridge is included as well so there is no need to buy it separately. You still need to have the box the cartridge plugs into (the thing which connects to the pipes mounted in the wall).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works great, one big plastic flaw I chose this valve trim for our bathroom remodel because my wife complained that our old single handle trim wouldn't allow her to take a cold shower without cutting the water flow down to a trickle. This dual function trim has successfully solved that problem. It works really well and the handle operation is very smooth. It is easy to make small adjustments to the temperature. The Brilliance Stainless finish is beautiful. As noted in other reviews, it is all-metal construction EXCEPT the plastic temperature handle. I don't even care much that it's plastic, it's the attachment method. It just clips on to another plastic piece and can be easily unclipped. It also leaves a gap (an uneven gap at that) between itself and the flow control handle. I think a low friction bushing/spacer that fills this gap would go a long way toward a better appearance and more stable-feeling attachment. Or better yet, a different attachment method altogether. Nobody has accidentally knocked the handle off yet, but I feel like it's only a matter of time. It would be easy to re-attach, but this just strikes me as a very disappointing and ill-thought-out element of an otherwise well functioning, rock solid, and attractive fixture. I would return it and get an all-metal version but Delta doesn't seem to make one. They're all like this as far as I can tell. Here's hoping they come up with a better design for this handle that can be retrofit onto the existing trim. In the meantime I'm very happy with everything else about this trim, and it still looks great at a glance. One other minor complaint is the instructions. They include instructions for like every valve in their lineup and you have to sort through to find the steps that apply to your specific valve. And even then, it's still pretty confusing/misleading. I'm an electrical/mechanical engineer and quite handy, yet had to resort to YouTube to get it right. That doesn't happen very often.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality product, Review by Licensed Plumber Standard Issue 1700 series trim kit. Installed in my home. Licensed plumber of 21 years. I only install Delta faucets and valves in my home. I prefer this model over some of the more costly square trims because it does not have the metal backing plate, and installs like the round trim plates. Don’t forget to water based latex silicone the top 3/4’rs of the trim and wait two days before use. This will keep any water from entering your wall and hold the plate in place more then the two screws provide. (Of Note, this trim will work for older square notch 1700 series cartridges as well but comes with the modern V notch 1700 cartridge.)

Q&A

Will this item (T17064-SS) fit and work with the Monitor Series 1700 valve from a pre-04/2006 (i.e. valve uses RP32104 cartridge) setup?

Asked by: canadian_remoob
Hi, Canadian_remoob! Thank you for your question. The Delta Monitor T17064-SS Valve Trim Kit will fit the Delta Monitor 1700 Series Valve Body. The new trim kit will include the RP46463 Valve Cartridge. This valve cartridge will not fit the 1700 Series Valve Body. You will want to use the RP32104 cartridge assembly. Best Regards, Rosanna

Our problem is freezing pipes during extremely cold weather. We had both hot and cold pipes freeze last winter. we would like to be able to drip both hot and cold lines. Is this possible with this unit?

Asked by: Odell
Thank you for your question, Odell! You would want to move the volume handle just enough to allow a trickle of water to come through. You would also want to put the temperature knob in a mixed position, so hot and cold water are coming through. Best Regards, Benjamin

Can the scald control be turned off or removed? I'm not able to get the water hit enough for a bath (even though the water heater is set for enough)

Asked by: Carsbug
Thank you for your question, Carsbug! According to industry standards, the maximum allowable temperature of the water exiting from the valve is 120 degrees Fahrenheit. This temperature may vary in your local area. Although it is not possible to remove the Scaldguard feature nor is it recommended to remove the rotational limit stop, information on adjusting the temperature to the hottest setting can be found on page 7 of your maintenance and installation manual. https://media.deltafaucet.com/MandI/X00076652_G.pdf Best regards, Edward

How do you remove the temperature knob and cover?

I need to disassemble the faucet to replace the seals but don't understand how to remove the temperature knob.
Asked by: Dave
Dear Dave, Thank you for your question. To remove the front temperature dial from the Delta Ashlyn Valve Trim T17064-SS, you would just "pop" it off of the temperature control knob by prying it off with a small screwdriver, or pull on it by hand. I want to adjust the valve temperature setting. How do you remove the handles to get to the valve? There doesn't seem to be a set screw.

Asked by: daniel
Hello daniel, Thank you for your question regarding Delta Faucet T17064! We apologize this information was not readily available to you, we are happy to help! To adjust your 1700 series temperature for hotter water, please follow the instructions below. You shouldn't need to shut your water off but keep in mind it is still possible for the water to turn on if the stem is rotated. Please gather a philips screwdriver. 1. Please remove the temperature cap located on the tip of your handle by placing your fingers on the 'pointer' of the temperature cap and peeling upwards. This will be a little difficult as it is clipped into the temperature knob. 2. Once this piece is removed, you will see a plastic piece held in by a philips screwdriver. Please remove this part and be very careful not to drop the screw or the Rotational Limit Stop (looks like a black cog). Please note this black cog piece goes in one way. 3. Pull the black cog piece out enough for you to rotate it counter-clockwise and place it back in. You may need to hold it in place while you put the temperature knob back on with the screw. 4. Once you thread the screw in, please note not to over-tighten it as the cartridge temperature knob may not rotate if you do. 5. Please line the temperature cap perfectly with the temperature knob. Push straight down and you will hear a click. *Please note there is a limit on how far this will rotate, if you rotate to the hottest setting it will be the same temperature as your water heater. This is not recommended as it can cause scalding. Please also note that each notch you rotate to can range anywhere between 4 and 16 degrees Fahrenheit.* You have rotated your temperature to receive hotter water! Turn your water on and see if this is your desired temperature. We appreciate your inquiry and look forward to better serving you in the future. Please contact us directly with any further questions.
