Rated 2 out of 5 by from Look nice, but watch out for the dripping! We remodeled two bathrooms in 2015, both using Ara shower or shower/bath parts. They seemed affordable and looked nice. One temperature control cover (a cheap plastic) was broken immediately and Delta sent a replacement quickly. The other is managing to hang on but is very loose and will need replacing soon. Worst of all is that both drip consistently and have from very early on. We can stop this on one by carefully turning the on/off lever to a particular place between on and off. The other one just drips and we can't stop it. It's frustrating. At least with our Delta kitchen faucet the cartridge seems to work for 3 years before it needs replacing. These barely made it a few months before they were dripping. The Delta stuff looks nice and feels okay, cheap plastic covers, Delta?) but we have not been happy at all with the performance or durability of the valve cartridges.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Value for your money Product arrived fast and was double boxed. Installation was not easy but I managed to get it done eventually. The chrome finish does leave water spots so you may want to wipe it down after your shower. The handle is chrome plated plastic but the rest are metal. I did shop quite a bit for a shower valve with both temperature and volume control, and with a modern contemporary look. This one has both while being affordable.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Beautiful ---but arrived broken! The temperature control knob (plastic) has two small notchs that snap into the main valve. This knob or handle controls the temp of the shower water. One of the two notches was broken off. So far I have been unable to find anyone in Oklahoma City that stocks parts for this Delta shower valve.

The handle does not point down when off?

I have 2 Ara fixtures - the other one points straight down when off, but this one is at more like 5 o'clock. Why? Is this correct and if so, is it adjustable to match the other one?
Asked by: JC
Dear JC, Thank you for your inquiry! The handle of the Delta Ara 17 Series Valve Trim T17067-BL is designed for the handle to be at the 5 o'clock position, to match up with the "OFF" label on the plate. There is only one hole that the handle assembly comes out of, so it will not interfere with any other items with the handle out to the side. Best regards, Tanya

About diverter valve

Hi, I am installing the shower head , 3 body sprays and hand shower. I would like to use one position for hand shower separately and 1 position for shower head separately and then 1 position for Showerhead and body spray together. Along wit this trim I have also bought the Delta R11000 3/6 Setting Diverter Rough ,Delta Faucet R10000-UNBX MultiChoice Universal Tub and Shower Valve Body and Vero 1-Handle 3-Setting Diverter Valve Trim Kit in Chrome . Is this OK to provide the setup of my choice or do I need something else
Asked by: Grover
Hi, Grover! Thank you for your question. Everything is correct but the 3 setting Diverter Valve Trim should be a 6 setting unit instead of 3 settings to handle all three shower components you want to install. The 6-Setting Diverter Valve Trim Kit in Chrome is T11967. Here is a link to the kit: https://www.deltafaucet.com/bathroom/product/T11967 Best Regards, Rosanna

Is Ara shower trim made of metal or plastic?

What valves do I need if I also want handshower on bar? Is a separate diverter trim required or are there other options for having a fixed shower head and a separate hand shower?
Asked by: daria
Hi Daria, Thank you for your question. The trim parts are metal, except for the temperature knob. To use a fixed shower head and a hand shower, you will also need a 3-setting diverter. You can use a wall-mount or a shower arm diverter. Wall-mount diverters require the R11000 rough-in and a T11 trim kit, such as the T11867-SS. http://www.deltafaucet.com/bath/details/r11000.html http://www.deltafaucet.com/bath/details/t11867-ss.html For a shower arm diverter, if you will be using a slide bar mount for the hand shower, you can use U4923-SS-PK or U4929-SS-PK http://www.deltafaucet.com/search/results.html?q=U4923-SS-PK%2C+U4929-SS-PK&num=20 Best regards, Jon
