I ordered (1) T17438-ss Monitor 17 series Lahara shower/tub and (1)T17238-ss Monitor 17 series Lahara shower kits. Do I order R10000 UNBX valves for both kits? I ordered one R10000UNBX and one R10000UN. Thank you. J Parker

Thank you for your inquiry, J Parker! Both of the Delta MultiChoice Universal Rough-In R10000-UNBX and R10000-UN valves can be used with both of the Delta Lahara Shower Trim T17238-SS and Tub and Shower Trim T17438-SS kits.

Monitor 17 vs Tempassure 17T
The description on this one (Monitor 17) states that it controls volume. What is the difference between this model and the 17T? Does the Monitor 17's larger handle just turn it on and off or does is actually control the volume? Thank you.
Asked by: Linda
Dear Linda,
Thank you for your question. The 17 series has a Monitor pressure balance cartridge. The 17T series has a thermostatic TempAssure cartridge that provides a more precise temperature control. Please click the link below for more information.

Need separate controls for temperature and volume
What is the simplest shower handle available that can can control temperate and pressure separately? Can I buy that without shower head (we have one already)? Please also suggest correct rough-in assembly.
Asked by: Mash
Hi Mash,
Thank you for your question! Our 17 series shower trims have separate controls for volume and temperature. Models beginning with T170 will include only the trim and cartridge for the valve and can be installed on any R10000 rough-in valve. does this trim kit work on 1700 series before 2006
Asked by: carlos
Thank you for your question, carlos! The model T17238 as well as all other Delta 17 series trim kits can be used on an older 1700 series valve body, however you will need to continue using the RP32104 cartridge as the newer MultiChoice cartridge that is included with this kit, will not fit into the older valve body.

Body Sprays and Jets for "Sit Down on Bench Massage"
Steam Room Corner Bench - Lahara Collection used so far
Want to install Body Sprays or Jets - 2 or 3 for back and 1 or 2 for legs.
These will be within 3 to 8 inches of our back and legs, since we will be sitting down and close to the wall that they are installed onto.
1. So, for a nice, powerful "massage" which should I get: T18017-SSXO, T1817-SS, T50001-SS, 50100-SS, 50102-SS or combinations thereof?
2. Option (1) to turn on "massagers" for back only, for legs only, or for both back and legs.
3. Option (2) to turn on "massagers" for back and legs together only, no need to have them separately controlled.
4. What other items (Valve, Trim, Diverter?) do I need?
Thank you.
Asked by: Dave
Thank you for your questions. Delta Faucet model # T17238 needs to be paired with the R10000-UNBXHF if you are never going to have a tub spout with the faucet. This will get you more flow from your features.
Regarding your massage choices, the T18017-SSXO will give you 2.5 gpm split between two jets. You will need the R1827-XO with it.
If you use the 50100-SS (1.8 gpm) or the 50102-SS (2.0 gpm), you will also need the R11000 diverter rough-in wittthe T11800-SS for 3 settings or T11900-SS for 6 settings.
With the T17238 and the R10000-UNBXHF, you will have 6.7 gpm at 60 psi so you will need to watch how many jets you are running at one time.

Lahara T17238-RB rough valve options?
I would like to replace an old shower valve with the Lahara model. I want to add a hand held shower and 3-way diverter valve at the shower arm (shower only application). I noticed an HF designation for high flow on some of the rough valve options. The standard rough valve appears to be the R10000-UNBXT. Is the R10000-UNBXHF my best option for the rough valve to get the most flow from the unit?
Asked by: Steve
Hi Steve,
Thank you for your question. As long as you are not planning on adding a tub spout, model# R10000-UNBXHF would be the proper choice to increase waterflow in a multiple showerhead application.

Which valve should I get for the shower only Model # T17038?
Asked by: Mary
Thank you for your question, Mary! Model T17038 is a 17 series valve trim only but can work with any of our MultiChoice Universal rough-in valves such as R10000-UNBXHF (high flow, shower only) depending on your installation needs and how you intend to connect the valve. If you're unsure, we recommend speaking with a professional about your specific requirements.

I have T17238-SS and need it to control 2 shower heads
I currently have the T17238-SS with R100000-UN Valve.
I want to add a 2nd Showerhead (Raincan).
I will only use 1 showerhead at a time, never both together.
1. Can I keep current Valve or need a different one?
2. Do I need a Diverter or is the current Valve and Trim okay?
3. Suggestions for a Raincan that will match T17238-SS, need it to have as-long-as-possible arm to reach out from wall.
Asked by: Dave
Thank you for your question. To pair with your Delta Faucet model T17238-SS and R10000-UN, we recommend Delta Faucet model R10000 diverter rough and T11800-SS diverter trim. If you are never going to use the two showerheads at the same time, you can also purchase RP71717 cartridge and they will not have a shared position.
We have a raincan showerhead that matches the Lahara collection with model RP51305SS and an extendable shower arm with model U6930-SS. It extends 13"-22" from the wall.

How do I increase water temperature
Asked by: Gary
I am having the same problem with water temperature. Can someone rom Delta answer the actual question originally asked so I can get my answer as well? (The answer addresses pressure, not temperature.)

Confusing answer above
I am sorry but I found you answer to my question (both above) confusing. From Delta spec sheet: RP71717 is Non-shared 2 function cartridge for use with 3-setting diverter trim. However, RP71718 (not mentioned in your answer) is Non-shared 3 function cartridge for use with 6-setting diverter trim.
In bath1 I proposed T11800 which is 3-setting diverter trim.
In bath2 I proposed T11900 which is 6-setting diverter trim.
I think the answer to my question should be ONE of these two choices:
1. All proposed components in both baths are correct. The only pieces you are missing from your bath set-ups is the RP71717 for bath1 and RP71718 for bath2.
OR
2. All proposed components in both baths are correct except T11900 in bath2 - T11800 should be used instead. The only piece you are missing from both bath set-ups is the RP71717.
So, which one is correct, 1 or 2 ? Thanks

Sorry I confused you. Maybe I should ask like this: I have 2 bathrooms.
In bathroom#1 I plan to install T17238, 55021 and 50560.
In bathroom#2 I plan to install T17438, 55021 and 50560.
What diverters and rough valves (and anything additional) I need to purchase for each bathroom? Note: all water outlets must operate only individually.

T17238, 55021, 50560, T11800, R-11000, R-10000-UNBX
note: both water outputs must operate only individually - when one is OPEN the other one is CLOSED

note: all 3 water outputs must operate only individually - when one is OPEN the other two are CLOSED

Thank you for your question. The only piece you are missing from both bath set-ups is the RP71717. This is a cartridge that is installed in place of the one that comes with the R11000. It will make your diverter a non-shared diverter.

What's the difference between a R-10000-UNBX and a R-10000-UNBXT rough-in?
Asked by: Michael Stumpf
Hi Michael,
Thank you for your question. The R10000-UNBXT includes a thin-wall mounting kit. This is for applications where you cannot attach the valve to a board in the wall and do not have a trim kit available to install onto the valve. Otherwise, the valves are the same.

Can the hot/cold adjustment be increased in the hot direction? My unit only goes to lukewarm setting and will not increase to a warmer value.
Asked by: JimH
Hello, JimH. Thank you for your question! The Rotational Limit Stop can be adjusted to allow more hot water. To do this, pop off the temperature knob cover, remove the Phillips head screw, and pull of the temperature knob. You can then pull the Rotational Limit Stop out of the handle and adjust it to the desired position. Please also refer to page 7 of the Installation Instructions.
