Rated 3 out of 5 by from Adjustments and water spots I'd ordered in the 17 series after reading other reviews that claimed this series was a better unit. I was disappointed to find alot of plastic in the fixture and the head of the shower dies not adjust left or right much at all. It is also awkward to change the shower flow on the shower head. Worst of all, the faucet and cover plate are badly spotted from water and no matter what I try to clean it with, I cannot get them off. They showed up immediately after we started using the shower in our new home. We purchased ALL Delta faucets as recommended by our builder and are noticing water spots on ALL of them. Found out AFTER they'd been installed that alot of the parts were plastic!!!! Disappointed. Please ask Delta how to clean the cheap plastic they use on their fixtures!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from As expected from a quality Delta Faucet! Better than another older Delta faucet set, this one is easier to maneuver for younger kids, so I can let my kids fill up the bathtub and adjust the proper temperature to their liking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product We love our Delta with integrated volume control. We used it at a friends house and decide to put it into are bathroom remodel. We did two bathrooms and put in both. It's nice to be able to adjust temperature and they look great.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Looks Only I love the look of this product. Unfortunately after being installed for only 8 months I had to have the cartridge replaced.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from We love this faucet. The different modes are great. My family loves the different spray modes. I like the fact that I don't have to adjust the temperature every time I take a shower. Also, the bathroom does not steam up like it did before. Very happy with this product. Each of our two bathrooms has the faucet.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Like the seperate temperature control I purchased this faucet because the temperature control is seperate from the on/off control. It works great but during installation you may have to adjust the handle assembly so the water is off while your are installing the handles. The instructions do not explain how to do this so you will have to figure it out yourself. Also, the pull down on/off switch for the shower is not quick. The water has to be coming from the shower completely before you can release the pull down knob. If you are not patient you will not like this. I would buy this again as I like how it works.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Small detail never mentioned We bought this tub and shower trim to match the shower-only fixture we had in another bathroom that we love - the separate temperature and pressure controls. But in a tub, you have to pull out a ring in the faucet to get the shower to come on, and you can't keep it in 'shower only' mode like every other tub faucet I've ever used. So it gets points removed for this...

will this trim fit an old 1500 series valve body

Asked by: joe p
Thank you for your question, Joe! If the screw holes on the original escutcheon plate are at 1 and 7 o'clock, this trim will work on the existing valve using the RP32104 cartridge (sold separately). https://www.deltafaucet.com/parts-product-detail?modelNumber=RP32104 If the screws are at 5 and 7, you will need an R10000 Rough-In Valve to install this trim kit as we do not make a compatible trim for your existing unit. Best regards, Jon

Hi, I bought the T17430-SOS Delta model, how much copper pipe is needed to be coming out of the wall surface for the tub spout?

Asked by: Vinny M
Hi Vinny M, Thank you for your question. The SOS model has a slip-on spout, which requires 2-4" of copper pipe extending from the finished wall. Best regards, Jon

How do you adjust the temperature for the faucet temperature knob? Mine is set at the hottest it can go and it's not as hot as I want it. The plumber came out to adjust it, but all he did was make it very difficult to turn on now.

Asked by: Laura
Hi, Laura. Thank you for your question. The rotational limit stop can be adjusted for the Delta Monitor T17430-SS shower trim. To adjust the adjust the rotational limit stop, first remove the temperature cover and take a Phillip's head screw driver and turn the set screw counter clockwise to remove. Next, remove the gray knob. Behind the knob, you should see a black disk. Please take this disk and take it out and place the disk to the hotter side. The hot side should be up against the iron piece that is sticking down on the volume handle. If you should need further assistance with this issue, please contact our Delta Customer Service line at (800)345-3358. We are available Monday-Friday, 7am-7pm, CST and Saturday, 8am-5pm, CST. I have an older (20 years) Monitor 17. Will the valve in that unit work with this trim?

Asked by: MarkB
Dear MarkB, Thank you for your inquiry! Yes, the Delta Classic 17 Series Trim T17430-SS will work on your older 1700 series valve and cartridge assembly, As long as the screw holes on your large round escutcheon plate are at the 1 and 7 o'clock positions and you do not have a push button shower diverter directly below the off and on handle. Any of the Delta tub and shower trim kits that start with a T17, except for the T17T series trim kits will interchange for you. The cartridges that come with the new trim kits will not fit your valve body, so you will need to reuse your existing cartridge (RP32104 White cap). Best regards, Tanya

Is the flow restriction device in the shower head removable?

Asked by: ron57
Hello ron57, Thank you for your question regarding the Delta Classic Monitor® 17 Series Tub & Shower Trim. I will be happy to assist you today. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend removing the flow restrictor from the shower head as it will no longer meet the specific plumbing codes and could potentially disrupt the way the model functions. Also, removal of the flow restrictor will void the warranty for this product. For more information on our flow restrictors, please visit the link below: http://worldwide.deltafaucet.com/customersupport/faq/water+pressure/index.html I hope this information helps. If you ever have any other questions, concerns, or require anything further please feel free to give us a call on our warranty line at 800-345-3358 and we will be happy to assist you in any way that we can. dual function or single function

what is the difference between dual function pressure balance cartridge and single function pressure balance cartridge? Also, I see that there is a dual function thermostatic cartridge - I always thought that the above mentioned cartridges were thermostatic as well? Is this thermostatic cartridge newer? How long has it been around?
Asked by: jg
Hi Jg, Thank you for your question. The single function pressure balance cartridge controls temperature only. The dual function pressure balanced and dual function thermostatic cartridges allows you to control the temperature and volume separately. The RP47201 thermostatic cartridge came out in 2006. The pressure balanced cartridges control temperature through water pressure, the thermostatic through water temperature. Thanks, Dave

can I run 5 gpm @ +/- 65 psi through Delta Monitor Shower Valve

I have a 12 year old home with a Delta Monitor valve in the Master bath shower. I am planning to remodel the bath room and would like to install 2 - 2.5gpm shower heads. Can this valve handle the flow volume? The water lines in the home are 3/4" and reduced at the valve. Meter is 1" and service line to house is 1.5" so Valve would be restriction point. Water pressure is over 70psi on city main.
Asked by: kgg
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # T17430 paired with the R10000-UNBX will flow at 6.0 gpm at 60 psi. We would recommend looping your showerheads behind the wall so they come into one port and you do not lose pressure. The fewer elbow turns you have, the better your pressure will be.
