Spray settings include: Full Body spray, Full Spray with Massage, Massaging spray, Soft Drench with Full Spray, and Pause
  • Pause feature reduces water to a trickle, giving you space for shaving, lathering and other shower tasks while maintaining your temperature settings
  • Soft, rubber Touch-Clean® spray holes allow you to easily wipe away calcium and lime buildup from the spray face of your shower head with the touch of a finger
  • Monitor® pressure balance valve keeps water temperature within a safe ±3.6° F (± 2.0⁰ C), helping to protect you from sudden changes in hot or cold water pressure

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Delta tub/shower faucet offers separate water volume and temperature controls making it a preferred faucet. The temperature control stays at the place you last left it so that you are not needing to do a complete hunt and seek for the correct temperature every time you get in the shower. The shower head offers several options for spray pattern.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Adjustments and water spots I'd ordered in the 17 series after reading other reviews that claimed this series was a better unit. I was disappointed to find alot of plastic in the fixture and the head of the shower dies not adjust left or right much at all. It is also awkward to change the shower flow on the shower head. Worst of all, the faucet and cover plate are badly spotted from water and no matter what I try to clean it with, I cannot get them off. They showed up immediately after we started using the shower in our new home. We purchased ALL Delta faucets as recommended by our builder and are noticing water spots on ALL of them. Found out AFTER they'd been installed that alot of the parts were plastic!!!! Disappointed. Please ask Delta how to clean the cheap plastic they use on their fixtures!

will this trim fit an old 1500 series valve body

Thank you for your question, Joe! If the screw holes on the original escutcheon plate are at 1 and 7 o'clock, this trim will work on the existing valve using the RP32104 cartridge (sold separately). https://www.deltafaucet.com/parts-product-detail?modelNumber=RP32104 If the screws are at 5 and 7, you will need an R10000 Rough-In Valve to install this trim kit as we do not make a compatible trim for your existing unit. Hi, I bought the T17430-SOS Delta model, how much copper pipe is needed to be coming out of the wall surface for the tub spout?

How do you adjust the temperature for the faucet temperature knob? Mine is set at the hottest it can go and it's not as hot as I want it. The plumber came out to adjust it, but all he did was make it very difficult to turn on now.

Hi, Laura. Thank you for your question. The rotational limit stop can be adjusted for the Delta Monitor T17430-SS shower trim. To adjust the adjust the rotational limit stop, first remove the temperature cover and take a Phillip's head screw driver and turn the set screw counter clockwise to remove. Next, remove the gray knob. Behind the knob, you should see a black disk. Please take this disk and take it out and place the disk to the hotter side. The hot side should be up against the iron piece that is sticking down on the volume handle. I have an older (20 years) Monitor 17. Will the valve in that unit work with this trim?

Dear MarkB, Thank you for your inquiry! Yes, the Delta Classic 17 Series Trim T17430-SS will work on your older 1700 series valve and cartridge assembly, As long as the screw holes on your large round escutcheon plate are at the 1 and 7 o'clock positions and you do not have a push button shower diverter directly below the off and on handle. Any of the Delta tub and shower trim kits that start with a T17, except for the T17T series trim kits will interchange for you. The cartridges that come with the new trim kits will not fit your valve body, so you will need to reuse your existing cartridge (RP32104 White cap). Best regards, Tanya

Does this come with the drain plug switch lever also?

Talking about the lever that mounts down on the tub to plug the drain.

Is the flow restriction device in the shower head removable?

Unfortunately, we cannot recommend removing the flow restrictor from the shower head as it will no longer meet the specific plumbing codes and could potentially disrupt the way the model functions. Also, removal of the flow restrictor will void the warranty for this product. dual function or single function

what is the difference between dual function pressure balance cartridge and single function pressure balance cartridge? Also, I see that there is a dual function thermostatic cartridge - I always thought that the above mentioned cartridges were thermostatic as well? Is this thermostatic cartridge newer? How long has it been around?

Hi Jg, Thank you for your question. The single function pressure balance cartridge controls temperature only. The dual function pressure balanced and dual function thermostatic cartridges allows you to control the temperature and volume separately. The RP47201 thermostatic cartridge came out in 2006. The pressure balanced cartridges control temperature through water pressure, the thermostatic through water temperature. Thanks, Dave
