Hello, mjbphx. Thank you for your question! Water will flow to the tub spout first and can then be diverted to the shower head or hand shower. This is the recommended installation for a tub and shower setup. The T11900 6-Setting Diverter Trim Kit will allow you to use the third port of the R11000 Diverter Valve. You may connect a non-diverter tub spout to the R11000, but the flow rate will be reduced by about 1 GPM when compared to the bottom port of the R10000 valve. Best regards, Jon

Hi Angie, We are sorry that you are experiencing a problem with your faucet. Most likely, you are experiencing "shower-rise" where the water can’t get out of the spout as fast as it flows through the valve. This causes the water to back up and come out the shower head. There can be one of several reasons for this: The valve could be upside down The length from the valve to the tub spout is outside of the 8" to 18" rule There is more than one 90-degree angle Something other than copper or galvanized pipe was used going to the spout The most common reason is that there is something restricting the water flow to the spout, e.g. solder or something lodged in the pipe. Something is impeding the flow of water to the spout and causing it to back up and go out the shower head. If this is the cause of shower-rise it is possible to remove the blockage by removing the tub spout; then, feeding a plumber’s snake or a speedometer cable up through the tub drop. The act of feeding it causes it to twirl and loosen the blockage. Be sure to flush the valve before reinstalling the tub spout. Be sure to check the tub spout itself for blockage. If none of these help, you may need to call a plumber. After the shower has been installed and the wall has been closed, there is little that can be done to remedy this situation yourself. Your faucet is equipped with a rotational limit stop that allows you to set the max hot water temperature on your faucet. Making the adjustment to this piece will raise the water temperature in the faucet. Here is a link to the How to adjust the rotational limit stop video. Hi, George! Thank you for your question. The Delta Monitor T17438-RB Shower Arm measures 5 1/2" in length. We do have longer shower arms and all work with the shower head. For example, our Delta U4993-RB that measures 6" or the Delta RP40593RB that measures 7". We also do have 16" shower arms such as the RP46870RB. Best Regards, Rosanna

Hi Vicki, If you are adding just the Delta Faucet model # 57021-SS to your T17438-SS, you will need the T11800-SS diverter trim to complete your faucet. If you add another feature, like jets or another showerhead, you will need the T11900-SS. We recommend that you use a tub spout diverter when hooking everything up because if you divert the water using your R11000 diverter rough to your tub spout, there will be times when your showerhead and tub spout are on at the same time. Dear Matt, Thank you for your inquiry! The Delta Lahara Tub and Shower T17438-SS faucet and collection style does not have an all metal tub spout. I know that can be frustrating. We are happy to help! There would not be a cover on the faucet finish. Always blot dry any water from the faucet surface. Allowing water to evaporate on the surface can lead to a build-up of mineral deposits. Cleaning with a damp non-abrasive sponge and buffing it dry with a clean soft cloth should help keep your product looking beautiful. To remove water spots, use warm water and a soft, damp cloth.
