Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a winner! I sell and install these fixtures for a living. Delta really does give you the best bang for the buck. I have specifically ordered the Vigo shower system more often than the others because it has a clean modern look. Being one of the more affordable thermostatic valves on the market, it’s a great value. If you are not familiar, Thermostatic is a must have. This keeps the temperature consistent whether someone flushes the toilet in the next room or someone is running laundry, the temperature doesn’t change. A added bonus: the accessories that go with the Vigo line are very well-made and easy to install. When using Delta fixtures, spring for the rough in valve with shut offs built-in. This is extremely convenient so you don’t have to shut the whole house water down multiple times.

mixer valve location

Hi, Most pictures of the shower assembly show the mixer valve located in line between the shower head and the tub spout. I have reason to want the mixer valve located on a different wall than the shower head and tub spout. Can that be done with the Vero series and your valve? Thanks for your time.

Hi Sherrie, Thank you for your question. The shower head may be installed on a different wall from the valve. However, the tub spout must be installed 8-18" directly below the valve. Installing the tub spout outside of these specifications can lead to back pressure, which may cause water to come out of the shower head while using the tub spout. Best regards, Jon

We are interested in purchasing 3 shower heads and controls for a remodel project. We would like the control for the shower to have two controls one for temperature and one for volume. We would also like having brushed stainless. Do you have any?

What is the dimensions of the shower head? What is the flow rate (gallons/min)? Does it have ceramic valve parts?

Hi Debi, Thank you for your questions. The dimensions of the showerhead in the model T17T253 are 8-21/32" x 5-45/64". The flow rate of the showerhead is 2.5 gallons per minute. The cartridge is a brass housing with ceramic plates. Thanks, Dave

Which diverter do I need to get? Will the pressure be good if shower, body spray, and handshower are all 'on'?

Thank you for your question. To be able to use these features, you will need to purchase Delta Faucet model # R11000 diverter valve and T11953 6-setting 3-port diverter trim. This will allow you to use each feature individually or 2 of the features together. You will not be alble to use all three features together. We also recommend the R10000-UNBXHF for the T17T253 trim package. This will give you a better water flow with all of your features.

We are planning on getting the dual-function shower head (T17253-SS) and handshower (55530-SS), do I need the shower only valve body (R10000-UNBXHF) or do I need the shower/tub valve body (R10000-UNBX)? Besides the valve body, what other items do I need?

Cleaning the metal surfaces

What do you recommend for cleaning water spots off the metal surfaces? Soap and water isn't sufficient. As an experiment, I tried a little SoftScrub on a soft cloth on an inconspicuous corner, and it did clean it up nicely. But given the warning against using abrasives I wanted to see what you recommend.

I'm the original poster of this question and I should clarify that I was referring to the stainless finish. In response to the answer posted above, none of the solutions suggested were effective in removing water spots. I ended up using Soft Scrub on a sponge (sponge only, not an abrasive pad), in very small amounts, slowly increasing the pressure until it started taking off the water spots. I was careful and went slowly and it didn't seem to affect the finish, but I can see why you generally wouldn't recommend people use abrasive products. That said, Delta needs to go back to the drawing board on this finish. It's unrealistic to expect people to either blot dry their faucet controls after every shower, or accept water spots that can't be removed without damaging the finish. No one wants to be drying off the faucet handle after every shower. It's going to get spots and you need to make it with a finish that's tough enough to handle a cleaner that will remove water spots without sustaining damage.
