We thank you for being a loyal Delta Faucet customer. The Delta Faucet model T24933 2-Handle Monitor 14 Series Valve Trim With 6-Setting Diverter does not require the third port to be capped off. The T24833 2-Handle Monitor 14 Series Valve Trim With 3-Setting Diverter only uses 2 products, so the third port would have to be capped off to prevent leaking behind the wall. We will be happy to assist you as quickly as possible. The faucet is turned on by rotating the bottom handle counterclockwise. The farther the handle is turned, the warmer the water.
