With separate handles for volume and temperature control, this Delta® tub/shower provides a more refined showering experience. Simply set the water at your preferred temperature and turn the shower on or off with the volume control handle - without interrupting your set temperature. Delta pressure-balance valves use Monitor® Technology to protect you and your family from sudden temperature changes.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Loose all the time We installed one of these Delta Dorval controllers in two of our bathrooms and form a design standard we love them, but one of the units in a guest bathroom that seldom gets used is chronically having the temperature selection adjustment lever coming sloppy loose. I've be careful not to over tighten it after taking the lever off and snugging it back up but after a few uses it wobbles all over the place. It's done this since new but again it doesn't get used much and is now 2 years old. The unit in the other bathroom loosened up maybe once in the same period of time. Flawed design? Maybe but wanted to let you know.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice quality - but pricey Nice quality- remodeled a upstairs shower and have used nothing but Delta faucets. Looks great. love the color but not the price. Choose Champagne Bronze that is more pricey than most other colors and harder to get. Plumber told me these have a lifetime warranty. Still glad I went with Delta.

On Amazon, the description for these 3 and 6 setting valve controls says "not recommended for tub spout applications." Why can't this be used with a tub spout?

Hi milksteak, Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet model T27856 Dorval™ Traditional 2-Handle Monitor 17 Series Valve Trim With 3 Setting Diverter In Chrome. We will be happy to assist you as quickly as possible. Connecting a tub spout to a diverter outlet is not recommended because the flow rate will be reduced and it will take too long to fill a tub. Unfortunately, the R22000 valve rough-in for a trim with an integrated diverter does not have a tub outlet. We recommend installing a tub spout to the bottom outlet of an R10000 mixing valve rough. In research I have found complaints in relation to Delta unit #T27856 restricting the temperature in relation to the household water heater setting. I had the same problem with a new bath shower control valve. How can this be overcome?

Hi Glennn, Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet model T27856 Valve Trim. I am sorry this information was not readily available, and I am happy to help! This kit features a Rotational Limit Stop to limit the maximum temperature as a safety feature. Adjusting the RLS counterclockwise will increase the maximum hot water that can be mixed. Does the chrome version have a split finish with porcelain handles, or is it a brushed metal look? It's a bit hard to tell from the pictures.

What is the secret to keeping the hot water selection handle from getting loose all the time? Every couple of months I need to take the handle off, snug it up below and reattach the water temp handle. Being careful not to over tighten. Add Loctite?

MY DIVERTER AND TEMPERATURE FLOW HANDLES ARE LOOSE. HOW CAN I TIGHTEN THEM? HOW DO I ACCESS THE INNER PARTS TO TIGHEN UP?

There is a button under the lever on the temperature adjustment handle, and on the diverter handle there is a button on the opposite side of the lever. We appreciate your inquiry.
