The Delta® MultiChoice® Integrated Shower Diverter consolidates custom shower design with its consumer-preferred streamlined style eliminating the need for an additional diverter valve. With the MultiChoice® Universal system, you have the freedom to upgrade style and functionality later. Delta's dual-function thermostatic valve cartridge keeps water temperature consistent (within 3.6°) by actually measuring and monitoring the temperature of the water. Temperature can be set in order to remain consistent shower after shower.

I love this trim, but I posted this same review under the 3 position diverter as well, since its the part that was included with this trim kit. So, originally I bought the shower trim, T27T897-SS (in stainless). It arrived with a "3 function diverter." I thought this was what I needed to control 3 separate nozzles in my shower (rain, normal shower head, and waterfall). After installing the trim and diverter, I noticed that the "3 function diverter" that arrived with the trim kit was not what I needed, as each function shared the #2 port. So after some research, I determined that I needed a 3 function diverter port, with NON-SHARED outputs. I ordered RP71718 per the parts diagram included with the trim kit. Cost was not cheap, like $100 + shipping for the diverter cartridge. The replacement diverter arrived yesterday and did the same thing as the one that came with the original trim. So, I called customer service and waited about 40 minutes for an agent (I was 15th in line). He proceeded to tell me that there was no such part as a 3 function non-shared cartridge, and that I needed a 6 function diverter (RP51919), and if I wanted everything to look right, I would need to buy the matching 6 position escutcheon trim as well, over $100 for the trim piece alone and the cost of yet another diverter, when the instruction manual states that I bought the proper part for what I intend to do here.. So I paid almost $800 for the trim and an extra $100 for the additional cartridge, and still have a shower that no matter what position you choose, water comes out of all 3 heads at the same time. Now Delta wants over $200 more for more parts to get this working like it should have from the start. How about making a proper 3 position, 3 function, non-shared diverter cartridge that actually works if you are going to charge $100 for it?? I am very frustrated and half termpted to put a different manufacturer in now, but I already installed and upgraded to the R22000 multichoice valve system, which I am pretty sure is compatible to Delta only. I have had great reliability with Delta and their customer service and warranty coverage has always been top notch, but I am starting to question that they are the same company anymore.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Hot Cold Knob Fail We had this item installed in our master bath, along with a shower head and also a hand-held shower wand in Venetian Bronze approx. 5 years ago. Very shortly after install, the plastic Hot/Cold knob broke; it was falling off (it's made of plastic). I called Delta and was sent a replacement very quickly, which was great. Here we are 5 years later and it's broken, again. I just went on-line and purchased TWO, one to replace the current, broken one and another for a back-up because I have no doubt it will break at some point in the future. Other than this knob, we have been very happy with the items in general.

Does this price include the shower head and the faucet along with the controls? All three pieces?

Hi Michael, Thank you for your question. The Delta Cassidy TempAssure 17T Series Valve Trim T27T897-SS model comes with the handles, escutcheon plate, and internal cartridge parts. The shower head, hand shower, body sprays would need to be purchased separately. A tub spout can not be install with this unit, due to needed flow rate. Best regards, Tanya

I'm trying to adjust the temperature range on the cartridge I either get all hot or all cold with no apparent mixing for intermediate temperatures. What is my problem?

Hi Mark c, thank you for contacting Delta Faucet Company! We apologize for the inconvenience you are experiencing and we are happy to help! Please make sure that: • The rough-in valve body has the word "UP" on top of the valve. • Both hot and cold water inlets have equal pressure. • The temperature on the water heater does not exceed 120 degrees Fahrenheit. To calibrate the RP47201: • Rotate the cartridge fully clockwise by hand. • Verify the hot/cold water inlets are equal pressure, then rotate the cartridge fully counter-clockwise by hand. Note that water will flow out of the tub spout or showerhead. • Place the handle onto the cartridge and slowly rotate the handle fully clockwise. Allow it to sit for at least 1 to 2 minutes. • Slowly rotate the handle fully counterclockwise and allow it to sit for at least 1 minute to 2 minutes. • Slowly rotate the handle clockwise until your preferred maximum temperature has been attained. Please note that your maximum desired temperature should not be more than 120° Fahrenheit or the lower temperature mandated by your local plumbing code. Please also note that once you reach your preferred maximum temperature, the handle not be rotated in any direction until the calibration process is complete. • Rotate the cartridge body clockwise by hand, shutting off the flow. • Install the rest of the components. • Test the product for the temperature you prefer. Our shower is not getting high temp hot water. Is there a secret with the three temp?

Hi Kevin, thank you for contacting Delta Faucet Company! The T27T series has a temperature knob on top of the bigger handle. Rotate the smaller handle counterclockwise to get hotter water, and clockwise for colder water. For new installations, please verify the valve has been flushed and the cartridge is installed properly by looking at the top of the cartridge. You should see H on the left side. A plumber installed this valve trim controlling a shower head and a handheld. The diverter works perfectly in all 3 positions. But, I'm getting no hot water. Can I adjust the cartridge myself to achieve hot water or is it a bigger issue?
