Delta is supposed to send a replacement part so that I can repair it. This item is much too expensive to have this problem.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Constantly drips We bought this bath faucet when we remodeled our bathroom a year ago. Also bought the sink faucets to match. All are beautiful and the sink faucets work well. However, we have ALWAYS had a problem with the bath faucet dripping after we use it. I should have sent it back immediately but after going through our remodel did not want to deal with it then. Just took a bath yesterday and the the dripping has turned into a constant stream of water. We cranked the handle so hard to stop it and i think we stripped the handle. I will be calling Delta on Monday in hopes that they will allow us to return it. One thing to note: We are not fans of the one handle knob as it makes it hard to figure out the hold/cold balance. Since that is the ONLY handle and it is now stripped we cannot turn it on at all.

how to ajust the mixing valv cant get hot water

Hi, Joe12! Thank you for your question. The valve cartridge assembly within the Delta T4797-RBFL-LHP--H798RB--R4700-FL Floor Mount Tub Filler does have a rotational limit stop that can be adjusted so that your water can become hotter. You will want to remove the set screw from the handle with a 1/8" allen wrench. Once the handle is removed you will be able to see the rotational limit stop on the front of the cartridge. To adjust the rotational limit stop: 1. Pull out the inner, off-white circle. It maybe quite stiff. 2. When pulled out far enough, the circle will turn. Left (counterclockwise=hotter, right (clockwise)=colder. 3.Release the circle once it's at the desired temperature. 4. Test the temperature, adjust the rotational limit stop as needed. As I turn the tub filler on, the water comes on hot, and the more I turn, gets cooler. This is opposite all my other tubs. DOes this need correcting?

Were the water lines reversed and do they need to be corrected? Is this easy to do? ALso, after use, the tub filler spurts water out, in the off position. Why does this happen? I was in the tub, relaxing, and then water suddenly spurt from the faucet even though it was not on.

Hi Maria, Thank you for your question! Based on your description, this can be resolved by removing the cartridge and flipping it around. A small amount of water may drain out of the spout as pressure is relieved from the hose after the sprayer is used. Best regards, Jon

Delta T4797-SSFL-LHP faucet does not get as hot as the lavatory faucet? They vary by more than 30 degrees?

Both faucets are connect to the same instant water heater line. The tub has personnel hand shower and the temperature is also lower than the lavatory faucet. The water temperature at the lavatory is approximately 125 where the tub faucet and handheld shower is only 95. My instant water heater is set at 130. My plumber has stated there is a mixing valve which limits temperature on the tub faucet? I was then told to turn the instant water heater down to 125? There is a shower and a second lavatory in the same bathroom which both of these faucets temperature is 125 degree. All faucets are delta.

Dear Fred, Thank you for your inquiry! To get hotter water from your Delta Traditional Floor Mount Tub Filler T4797-RBFL-LHP, you would need to adjust the rotational limit stop on the top of the cartridge assembly, under the handle. Please see pages 7 and 8 module 3 of the below Maintenance/Installation document link. What is the difference between the two floor mounts? R4700-FL & R4700-FLWS. Thank you

Hi Adriana, Thank you for your question. The R4700-FLWS has supply stops that allow you to shut off the water at the valve during installation. It also will accepts threaded supply connections. The R4700-FL does not have stops and requires soldering. These are the only rough-in valves for our freestanding tub fillers. Best regards, Tanya

Pressure out of spout and hand shower is too strong. I am wondering if there is any way to adjust the water pressure. It seems that the lower pressure is only available on cold setting. Pressure increases as I increase the temperature.

Hello, Jo Anne! Thank you for your question. The flow rate coming from the spout cannot be adjusted except on the cold side. The volume is determined by the water pressure in your home, and you can find a flow rate chart in the Technical Specifications linked below. https://media.deltafaucet.com/SpecSheet/DSP-B-T4797-FL-LHP_D.pdf The hand shower is currently designed to run at 1.75 GPM at 80 PSI. When I turn on the water. The hot water comes on first. When I turn the water all the way. It is cold. It should get hotter. How can I do so the water is cold then hot?
